Question About Housing

Hey Everybody, I've got a quick question about working at CP this Summer.

I live in Florida but I have family in Marblehead and Port Clinton. Would it be better to live in one of the dorms, or to commute for a little over half an hour daily. If I live with them, most of my food and rent will be covered. Would it be cheaper to eat and live at CP or to live with them and drive to CP every day?

It would probably be cheaper to live in cp housing especially with gas prices the way they are you may pay a little more for food but housing only costs b/w 15- 40 a week and is taken right from your paycheck. Also living in housing is part of the experience you meet a lot more people ad develop stronger friendships.

Thanks for the reply! Any suggestion which is the best place to live?

Commons Dorms have AC and commons apartments have ac in the living room...commons dorms are most expensive at $35.00 a week. how much you pay is base off of how many hours you work.

And if you decide to live in housing and hate it, you can just move out of housing and move in with your family.

trust me, you WON'T want to commute an hour and a half after a 10 hour work day. I lived in commons dorms, and the $35 a week was totally worth it. It's an awesome social experience, and the free employee shuttle bus will take you to meijer's or wal mart for food, or even the mall.

Where do you get an hour and a half? Its 20 minutes to Port Clinton and 30 to Marblehead. Those times are rounded up and that's going the speed limit. I can easily get to Port Clinton from downtown Sandusky in 15 minutes.

Does anyone know if/where its possible to get a double room at Cedar Point? Cause I heard there are some, but the majority are more than that.

^^ I believe the on-point housing (Cedars for guys, Gold for girls) has 2 person rooms available. I know Commons dorms are all 3-4 people, and I believe the Commons apartments are the same.

^^That sounds better. But personally Id rathe take the 20+/- minutes drive to live in an actual house with free home cooked meals. I know, call me crazy but when I compare Hot Pocket to Pork Chops, quiet bedroom to 4 person room, hot clean shower to community shower...A 20 minute drive does not sound bad.

But like I said, try out housing and if you don't like it just move in with the family.

I've heard bad things about the on point housing, though haha.

Well, a lot is bound to happen when you put 3-4 complete strangers in the same room and expect them to live together harmoniously
and PUBLIC SHOWERS ughhhhh I WON'T be missing that!
As for hot pockets...it's the same diet I eat for college, but since you have the opportunity for free room and board, I'd strongly consider taking it. Gotta say that by the end of the season, I was getting rather sick of my entire kitchen consisting of a mini fridge and a microwave. At least in the apartments there is a public kitchen. But then you risk your food being eaten by everyone else

^^ I certainly wasn't endorsing the on-point dorms (I'd personally not want to stay there, but some people like them) just answering the 2 to a room question.
