Question About Housing

I know there are a bunch of posts regarding housing at Cedar Point, but I have been unable to find pictures. Does anyone have some pictures of the housing that is available? Also, I would like to bring a desktop computer. Is there room for it? I'm mainly looking at Bayside, but input on the other housing options would be helpful, thanks.

in my opinion i would not suggest bringing a desktop bayside apartments are small i had some pictures but my cell phone got busted in a car wreck unless u want to leave ur desktop out and ur not worried about people stealing ur stuff i worked for cedar point last season and had some valuable stuff stolen right out of my bayside apartment while at work
the bad thing of it all was the roomie that got fired took it out on everyone else and if ur working in merchandise i suggest u do not steal cause cedar point will fire u then throw u out on ur butt no speeding on the causeway that another way to get fired and thrown out on ur butt if u bring a car park where told to or it will get towed to a impound lot cars get broke it to a lot at cedar point keep valuables out of ur car if not out of ur car keep it out of view not trying to make someone rethink there decision to work for cedar point just giving some pointer

I would also love pictures of the housing. I managed to find these on the internet. Anyone else have any more?

Wow. Those rooms look wayyyy too small to house 3-4 people!

It seems like pretty much everyone recommends living in the Commons and not the apartments. I know bayside will probably be full but what's wrong with the other ones?

15 roommates, 2 bathrooms (that you have to clean yourselves) and no AC in the bedrooms for starters.

So if you don't know anyone before you get there do they just assign you a roommate?

My friend and I are going this summer in CP and we are going to work in different places, from different employers and in the job agreement we have been placed in different housing. So my question is can we change the housing so we can be in same room, and if there is a chance to reserve room ahead?
Also we will arrive together in the same time.

the first one is commons 1500 building, the next four are a typical commons dorm room. Don't mind how messy it is... this is move out day :)

i am going to be at cedar point in may and i wanted to know what was the best place to live in? and is it pest free?

Are we able to stay in the hotel without a roommate, or just one other person?

A guy I knew last year didn't have a roommate when he lived at hotel breakers

Oh okay thanks. I'll have to look into that. I hope its not too expensive.

From what I know of last season it was SUPER cheap compared to the other housing choices, as long as you work at a hotel. Actuall, I think he had a 4 person room all to himself, not positive though

While we are on the topic of housing, I thought I could ask a few questions.
The thing I am most worried about is the way I'm going to be living.
I'm moving from overseas, so I can't just bring a mini fridge with me (like seriously haha), so I obviously need to be living somewhere that provides me with the simple necessities, such as a fridge, stove microwave etc etc.
Now I wouldnt mind living on-point, but apparently none of those have stuff like that.
So then how are you supposed to live? lol.
I mean, food and everything ..... do people just live at the employee cafeteria? lol

And I was wondering if there was any place for employees to exercise?
I mean, I doubt there would be a gym anywhere ....
But even if I was able to run around the point in the mornings that would be good.
I was also wondering if there any close by places to buy livings needs, just the sort of crap you would need for any living situation (toilet paper, toothpaste, milk) etc etc .....
I would assume there is some sort of supermarket nearby?
Also, I was needing to have some sort of connection to the internet, and was considering buying a little laptop and taking it with me.
How common is theft in the housing? Is there any way you can safely secure valuables and whatnot? ie phones, ipods, computer, money. Surely you can keep this stuff safe somewhere.

Also, are employes allowed to live at Hotel Breakers or Breakers Express? I wouldn't mind paying a bit more ....
And lastly I process in May 4th, what housing will be open at this time?

Sorry about being a pain haha, I just have lots of questions :)

Just saw your question about being able to run around the point in the morning?

As a seasoned runner myself, I just want to point out that you will get PLENTY of exercise everyday on your ride.

I lost 23 pounds the summer I worked at the point.

I'm too sexy for my harness!

In commons, there's a little store that has basic things like tooth paste and other things like that. If you live in the commons apartments, there are 16 people per apartment. And it's not the best, there's no air conditioning, but there is a stove. And when I used it last season it just made my apartment unbelievably hot, so I didn't use it much. In the commons dorms, there are microwaves you can use and the commons store has frozen foods that you can buy and microwave right in the store. There are also grills that you can use too. I used them quite a bit last season.

And! There is a gym! It's very small, but it does exist. You'll get a ton of exercise at work too, and at magnum, you have lift runs where you have to go up the first lift hill and back down if a guest pulls out a camera(lots of steps)

There is a Walmart that isn't too far from housing, and there's a bus that can take you there and back. But, you could also catch a ride with another employee, I used to take people on weekly trips to ye old Walmart and I know there are plenty of people willing to help out if you need a ride.

I've never had a problem with theft, in the commons dorms you have a huge locker to lock your things up when you're not using them. The employee rec has Internet and computers you can use, they don't have webcams though, so if you wanted to Skype with family you would have to have your own laptop with camera.

Only employees that work in the hotels are allowed to live there, and the conditions at the hotels are kinda bad, it's the rooms at hotel breakers that havent been used by guests for a long time, so they aren't too awesome.

Commons apartments and dorms will be open in may. Bayside is also open, but it fills up by the end of April for the people doing cleanup and whatnot.

Put a post saying that your need roommates. In the post, mention the mini-fridge. lol!! You could walk the Boardwalk. It's the sidewalk (behind) Hotel Breakers. Also, the Cedar Point Beach would be awesome for walking, as it's 1 mile long. As for the basics: there is a Walmart, and Meijer's on Route 250. BOTH are on the (left side of the rode, going South). For valubles, you could get a lock box, or if you live at the Commons DORMS and have your own padlock, you are allowed to use the locker provided. I heard that only Hotel Employees are permitted to stay at the Hotel. However, there was a Ride Hostess on my crew last year that stayed at Breakers, so you should check into it. There should be lots of housing available May 4th. Mid June to early July is when you should start worring about that. You are a pain. Everyone has questions. I had a lot of them my first year, wich was; (2011). If you have any more questions, my name is Jacob. My e-mail address is: jp312210@ohio.edu

Shoot me an e-mail. I'll be happy to answer anything, to the best of my knowledge.

Looking at housing so far, I have a few questions:

1. Bayside appts...is there AC, it says only heat?
What does the living room, ect. look like

2. Common appts....says ac only in the living room? What's it like to sleep
Layout of these

3. Common dorms=1400's right? And what are those like?

Basically I want room, and I kind of want a living room, and a kitchen/fridge to store stuff in like gatorade, ect. Versus buying a mini fridge and totting it up to CP. Plus having a kitchen will be nice because I can make food and "try" to eat healthy while up at the point.

Also, wifi in each of the buildings? Any Good

What are your takes on those three & pros & cons please...thanks everyone...sorry for being a first year n00b

If you get the Commons apartment, I have lived there the last 3 seasons and they do have a stove and nice size fridge but I recommend getting a mini fridge cause there are a lot of international employees and 15 other people to use the same fridge so it gets full quick and my food was eaten while I was at work by other roommates and their friends.

Wifi is located mostly in the dorms and the rec, none in the apartments.

I liked living in the apartment cause I can cook my own food and can deal with sleeping with no ac. wish I had gotten a mini fridge to keep my stuff from getting eaten or not having space for it.

If you live on-point, a morning jog on the beach would be a pretty awesome way to start the day. I'm pretty sure jogging within the park is pretty much not allowed. As others have said, you'd do well to search for roommates on here or on Facebook and arrange everything before you arrive. That way you could make sure you have access to a fridge or whatever else you need.
