Question about early entrance

A friend just asked me a good question that I couldn't answer.

I stay at Camper Village every year and, of course, we get in the park early. A friend of mine was planning on staying in a cheap hotel and I was bragging to him that I get in early and he asked, "why couldn't I just go to the back lot and get in early through that entrance?"

What stops people from doing this? Are the tickets we buy at the front desk different from the ones bought at the main gate? Or can he really just go around back and get in early? I told him I would think that CP would have thought of that already and would have some sort of system in place. I figured someone here would know the answer to this. Thanks for the info.

When you check into CV or any of the resorts, you *should* get a Resort Guest pass that allows you to enter the gates early. If you do not get this when you check in, make sure to ask for one. One pass will get your whole party in, so you just need one. The workers do check for the card when you enter the park.

Thank you for the info. For the life of me, I can't remember having to show a card to get in early though. It could just be my memory though. Must be from the coasters!
