I applied a while back and my status is, and I qoute "in our general application base and available for review by all operating departments within Cedar Point."
Should I do anything or wait at this moment? I put my start date at 5/12/08, if they are going to hire me, when should I hear from them about the interview?
Thank You in advance.
It sounds like all 3 of your job choices has possibly reviewed your application but took no action to it, and is pretty much available for grabs by anyone at this point.
You can either wait it out and hope for the best. You can also call Human Resources, and go from there.
I'd be calling HR.

Right after you submit your application, it is only viewable by the departments of your top 3 job choices. After 2-3 weeks, if a manager hasn't put a hold on your application, it gets opened up to the general pool for all managers to view, and potentially hire you. This does not mean that your application was viewed or wasn't viewed by your top three department choices.
How long ago did you apply? What department did you apply for?
Edit: Fixed Typo.

I applied over three weeks ago, to the rides department, food, and I'm not sure what department this is, parking.
I think it could be because I put only about 2 and a half months between my start and end dates to the reason that I am not being considered. Do you think that's the case? If so, is there anyway of going back and changing it to say 3 or 4 months.
That could be. Rides typically asks for at least a 3 month commitment. As for changing it on your application, there isn't any way to do so on JobNet. You'll need to call either Human Resources, or contact the department to which you are most interested in and explain your situation. There may not be anything you can do about it now.

I had the same issue last year. I just call park operations and got it cleared up.

I'd call HR and ask them about your application. Its not like it can do any harm, cause if they aren't gonna hire you then nothing bad can come out of calling, and if they are gonna hire you then they'll just be happy that you're really interested in working there.
