question

This question is for any employee who works on the Millennium Force. Am I able to video tape the roller coaster in the que lines and station for my Senior Project for school? I will not be taking the camcorder on the ride....a non rider will leave the station and hold my camera while I ride. Is this ok?

I don't understand why you can't take the video from the midways. Don't get mad if the entrance person doesn't allow you to take it into the quene. We try not to let things into the line that could be ejected from the ride. I know someone that got hit in the head with a cell phone that came from someone riding MF.

You wont make it past the entrance with a camera unless it fits into a zipped pocket. Even if you ask to take some pictures. There really isnt that great of a spot to take a picture from in the queue anyway. There are plenty of better spots from the midway and CP&LE railroad.

The only way you would get in with a camera is by contacting the PR department but I highly doubt they will let you. Buts its worth a shot!

What harm is it just taking the camcorder IN LINE? I am not taking it on the ride itself. I would be able to get really close shots of the train when I am on the platform going into the station. I will have a non rider wait with me in line and leave the station with my camcorder while I ride.

Since CP is private property they have the right to make the rules.

The Betamax case of 1975 may have some grounds for an apeal for your concerns

For now you have to follow the rules and take stills for private use; sorry I dont like it anymore than you do

And there are overriding safety issues that have alot of case law to support the prohibition of taking cameras on rides. Sorry.....

There are ways of bypassing the rules and I do not advocate this course of action in any way. Just follow the rules; PERIOD!

Due to the way that the stations at MF are set up, someone not riding will also not be alowed in line for the ride. Remember that there is a load station and an unload station. It is also the policy of CP that absolutly nothing can be retainted by an employee for a guest, meaning the employees can not hold ANYTHING for the guests. Since MF is a high speed ride that does involve heavly banked turns, the chances of something falling out is extremely high and if it falls out while you are on the island, it will not be picked up untill the season is over the and the lagoon is drained. The only thing that employees can hold is a large umbrella.

Someone not riding MF will nto be allowed to wait in line? Well i can tell you thats not true! My Mom waits in line with me all the time for MF, and she never rides, she tells the employee shes not riding, and she exits, and she has never had a problem with this.
I was going to say..."someone not riding is not allowed to wait in the line" is really not true. Thats why I see no problem with letting my non rider hold my camcorder and leave the ride after I am done taping in the station and while I ride. That is why the exit ramp for non riders or riders who do not fit in the seatbelts ect. is there.

I do not understand why someone who is not actually going to ride a ride (and especially MF, with it's sometimes considerable line) would want to wait in the line just for the heck of it?? Wouldn't you rather be sitting down, getting something to eat, or even watching a show? Waiting in line for MF is irritating as it is (the one time I actually had to wait in line) when you know you'll get your chance on it eventually. But to stand for an hour or so for no reason at all? I guess this is mostly for Raptor1117, who said his mom does this. I am not trying to be nitpicky, but is there a special reason she has to be in the line with you or something?

There's actually another string talking about having camcorders in the lines. Video cameras are not allowed past the ride enterance. If you want to check out that string it's: http://www.guidetothepoint.com/cpplace.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=11484&page=1
