Pull Through

Jason asked why all the webcams just happened to go down while the "pull through" was in session - inferred it was a conspiracy. Tony and Tyler responded that he may be onto something. Both posts had nice smiley's. :)

There is a nice picture on the front page of the Plain Dealer this morning showing Terry Morgan of Shelby contucting the "Test Pull." No article, just a picture and a caption.

Goodbye MrScott

John

There is a chunk missing at the bottom of the plywood template. Wonder if they had an issue.

I'm in doubt of them removing a piece of the wood to pass a part that would be a potential problem.

If that part of the plywood was crucial they wouldn't remove it. What about later on in the test? That part of the wood made a difference at one point but now doesn't?

I just can't see them cutting out a piece of wood that caused a problem.

Ride on, MrScott!

It may not have been crucial, but it certainly looks like it had to be removed.

Removed == broke off =/= clearance problem.

Brandon

For the record, I said removed... I didn't say clearance problem... :)

Chances are that it broke off while moving the car, not any clearance issues. Things tend to get banged around a little during movement.

And that's all I was emphasizing, and wasn't responding to anyone in particular. I was just trying to avoid the "ZOMG!!!11!1!1! Teh arms aer gonna get broken on Teh Maverick!!!1!111!one!"

FYI, When I was leaving work around 5pm, I decided to take a look at the Funcam and it appeared as if the train was in the first half of the horseshoe turn. Sorta frustrating to finaly have something to watch and not have the webcams running.

I look forward to the PointCast later this week.

Did anyone else find it amusing that they are physically doing the pull through by man-power.

TTD 120mph's avatar

It obviously isn't all man power. Perhaps they just did the ground turns with manpower untill they got to the hill.

^^I could have sworn that around Saturday (and I think Sunday too) the train was in the second corkscrew of the horseshoe turn......they wouldnt be going backwards.....would they??

I'm guessing that photo was probably taken Friday of last week.

Jason was that the whole train, or just the very first car of the train that you saw going around the track?

Neither. Two cars.
