Yes, but was it truly a design problem that caused the accident, or was it the shoddy lumber used by the construction company?
I've just got this feeling that the loop is being removed to appease lawyers when it was an implementation flaw, not a design flaw.
Of course, Herr Stengel may have erred on this one.
Goodbye MrScott

Yeah I thought the issues with SOB was the park decided to use its own construction crew and lumber against the advice of the designers. Just goes to show if you skimp on the initial cost of something, you're going to end up paying for it in the end. Had they just paid for the proper lumber and construction crew, they may have had a truly amazing coaster. But, we'll never know.
The cars look to be upside down right now on the Funcoast.com camera.

Interesting reply from Tony and Tyler to a comment related to the pull through on the blog.

I know. But it always amazes me how the littlest thing on the blog will cause people to think its true.
And the fact that people think they are hiding something by taking all the cams down (including the one on the Main Midway that shows nothing of the construction) just baffles me.
Goodbye MrScott

Some people don't understand Tony and Tyler's sarcasm. I their sense of humor are one of the better things about the blog.
What would they possibly hide? What a stupid theory.

I made the blog comment. And it was more in jest than anything else. Hense my winking smiley. They must have found it ammusing too, because I didn't think they'd post it. They also had a winking smiley. The comment wasn't really meant to be serious. It just came to me and I thought it'd be a funny comment to submit.

This is probably a stupid question... but wouldn't the lsm's make it really hard to pull the train through? Seeing as how they are supposed to act as brakes when they don't have power.

They won't move the train very fast so not really. To pull the train at the rate of speed that it will reverse down the hill will take double the force. So lets say that they go at that speed.
Say the lift hill is at a 30 degree angle and the setup with two cars weights 1,500 kg.
1500 sin(30deg.) = 1500*0.5 = 750 kg of pull force. Double that to get the force going up the hill at the same rate that a train will roll down the hill without power. 750*2 = 1500kg.
Now when you go down the drop, there will be two points where the force that gravity pulls the train down will be 1500 kg. About the same force.
