Looks pretty cool. I like the pulley system they hooked up. *** Edited 2/5/2007 9:31:27 PM UTC by DBCP***

I wonder why they didn't have a picture when the Cars went on the Track around the Tunnel Section, and when do you think they will start putting the TUNNEL UP?

They probably tried to get it through the tunnel section fairly quickly to allow the electrical work to continue.

The framework for the tunnel is set, but since they probably want to keep the electrical equipment where they can see it untill it is working proporly. I bet that they will not put the remainder of the tunnel up untill the ride starts testing with the LSM motors.

The heartline looks wicked sweet!!! It's nice to see the themed elements going in too. I was a little worried those wouldn't make it to reality.

I sorta wish the seats had been colored appropriately to the train's color. I know it makes more sense to have all those parts the same color so they can be swapped out if required. But, with such little color on the trains that's unique, they all sorta look the same.

I noticed 2 things from the update.
One: It appears that the transformers have indeed arrived.

two: I'm not sure if this has been implemented on any of the other OTSR train designs of other Intamin coasters but it appears that not only are the seats, in the back of each train, higher (as we know Intamin does for most of their designs) but they’re also spread out! Look closely and you'll see it. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/_upload/gallery/mvt127.jpg
I for one haven’t seen this on an OTSR Intamin train. I knew the seats were going to be tiered higher but not that they were also going to be spread apart. This should prove to provide some great views from the second row.

Adam has got to be one of the most observant people on here. I noticed the transformer, but not the seats. VERY good man. :)

I hope that helps the view like you said. I'm short, so all the tricks they can pull to give me a view help!!

Tony showed us a cool video at Eastcoaster and while he was walking through the tunnel, he said that was probably the last time we would see anything in there. So, I infered from that, that they are close to being ready to enclose the tunnel. I could be wrong though. I think I was wrong once before. ;)

Adam that's a very good eye. It's a really cool idea for them to have the seats separated.

Nice grab Adam, I am not to familiar with Intamin otsr trains so I would have never caught that.

You are correct Adam. I looked at all of Intamins recent work, and thats the only train like that. Of course, we haven't seen Desert Race @ Heide Park yet, so we can't be sure they haven't used these types of trains on it, but yeah.

Nice find.

Well Desert Racer is a hydraulic launch coaster so the design of its trains are alot different to Mavericks LSM train design.
I think it's trains will be very similar to Speed Monsters.....just longer. Plus they said the trains will be "themed as off road vehicles".

I feel this new design in seating will be one of the best on an Intamin steel yet. Sometimes the smallest modifications turn out for the best.

Other than the seats spread further apart, I can't find any difference between Kingda Ka's or Storm Runner's trains (I know they're are different underneath). Just saying that LSM and hydraulic launch coaster trains are no different. TTD and Xcelerator are still the only hydraulic launch coasters using the old (better) style.

Note: Furious Baco @ PortAventura will have much different trains. I would have liked to have seen those on Maverick, but I'll survive.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that Ka's and SR's seating on the trains is lower. I think, because of Mavericks LSM design, the seats are set higher (not by much) because the spine is set higher due to the thing the stators pass through (I cant remember what it's called). That's another thing that’s different. LSMs have to pass through stators, hydraulics do not. Hydraulics do pass over brake fins, but those are set on the sides which is where the permanent magnets are.

Though looking at the pics I can see the spine really protrudes from the floor. So I guess the seats are about at the same level as other Intamin OTSR trains.

I'm not quite sure just yet, I'm kind of tired so I'm not sure if Im seeing things right. I'm giving my eyes a rest for now.:)

^You're obviously more observant of these things than I am, but I'm just getting across that to the naked eye they look very similar. The undercarriage of both trains are very different though I am sure.

To me, it looks like the horizontally-tiered seats may just be an optical illusion.

DJ, take a look at the gaps between the shoulder harnesses on the front row and the back row. The back row are definitely further apart.

Yeah, I know - I've been looking at it over and over all morning, and it just looks weird, I suppose.

For me to explain, I'll number the rows in that pic 1-4, and the seats a-b (left to right)...
2a looks to be in line with 1a, while 2b looks to be to the right of 1b. Relative to 3a, 4a appears also to be in line or perhaps just slightly out of line, and 4b appears to be further out of line with 3b as compared to 3/4a.

I realize that I'm likely wrong, but was just pointing out how strange things look in that pic.

EDITED to add formatting, and again for correctness.
