Pull-through?

Have they begun the pull-through yet? The track is complete, the crane is still there, and high up. I haven't seen anything about the trains arriving yet, but then again, I just learned what a pull-through is yet so I'm not 100% sure about what it actually so if somebody could explain in detail then that would be helpful. Thanks.

Why are you so impatient? Building roller coasters, especially one of this size takes time. Be glad that they aren't rushing it, they are making sure it's safe, and will run better when it opens in may.

I don't think so. As of now they have a tarp over one part of the launch track. Is that where the hydraulic room will be? Monty will let us know when its pull through time.

well...

There is still tarp all over the track. No trains have arrived yet..... I wouldnt count on it.

Perhaps because they only announced it only 9 days ago!They're busy, it's not like Monty is going to sit down every day and update his diary. Expect more of a monthly/bi-monthly update. Be thankful they have any info on their site at all.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

Actually the trains have arrived they are wrapped up and have been there for a while a friend of mine saw them on his last day of work.

the place with the tarp over the track is where the station will be, LOOK AT THE DRAWING!!! lay of the drugs, u can think more.

Is the "lay of the drugs" like the "lay of the land"? Find a dictionary, "U can spell more".

I believe that many people though the new trains we're under tarps around the Mantis station. It was then confirmed that these we're just the third Mantis trains that are no longer being used.

This is what I've heard people saying.

A pull-through is where they a crane or something and pull the train through the ride at slow speeds to make sure everything is working right. I'm not really 100% sure on it, but that's what I think it is. If you look in the gallery you can see many photos of the pull-through of MF. It was part of the train, and it had a big wooden (or cardboard, I'm not sure) thing on the back.

If someone could give a more detailed explanation that would be helpful to me too.

Edit: Ok that was weird millenniumdragster just asked what a pull-through was and then once I posted this his post was gone. Anyway, if someone does have a detailed explanation that would be nice. Thanx.

Peter, you expanation was dead on. Thats all it is. However, the entire circuit has to be completed and at least one train on the track. I also believe the tower has to be tightened first as well. I would start looking for a pull through sometime in Feb, giving them 2 full months of testing.

But what's up with the wooden thing on the back and why is it only part of the train?

The fin on the back is checking for clearence. They have a certain distance (I think it is 10 feet) they want all the supports to be from the train so that some idiot doesn't lose his hand from trying to touch the supports.

I've got the feeling they've just been torquing the bolts thus far. Now that (seemingly) everything is in place, tighten them up, then do a pull through. I'll be watching and waiting.

Then can you define impulse? Is it LIM, like SUE? Because I though impulse just meant launch coaster. I'm sorry I'm not too good with all these "hip" technological terms.
