Wow ... Woz, Oz and Knauf are all at GL now. What do you think they will do to replace these individuals? Will they bring in managers from other parks or will they promote Supervisors? I know no one knows for sure but its interesting to speculate.

Actually, I think you're reading the article wrong. ^_~ Only the first paragraph or so is about folks who are going to Geauga Lake. Everyone else has just been shuffled around a bit, but is remaining at the Point. What awesome news for everyone on the list!

Edit: It's interesting how they seem to have divided Bill Spehn's duties between two people.

Congrats to everyone who is moving up at one park or another!

I'm confused though...Wozniak is now "director of ride and waterpark operations." Is there still going to be a "VP of Park Operations" similar to what Spehn was before? I guess only time will tell.

I'm not sure if anyone gets the VP title or not, but what Lee said is what it looks like to me. Bob and Candy are splitting Bill's duties.

What caught my eye was it said Knauf was promoted to manager of merchandise operations. Doesn't this leave rides with one less person than before? Not to mention Bob will have more on his plate.

Yeah, i think he/she was reading the wrong article. Man, i was about to be seriously pissed off if Knauf, Oz and Woz was heading over to GL.

The way the article read we are loseing Knauf to Merch that will suck if that really is true.

If you read further down in the same article is says someone else was promoted to manager of merch. operations as well.... do you think it could have been a typo about knauf? or is there more than one manger of merch. operations?

it was a typo...Knauff is now has Oz's old Job...Asst manager(or Director, I can't remember) of Ride Operations

I figured that some big wigs would be moving to Geauga Lake, but I found it more interesting that Hilderbrandt has been promoted to VP and General Manager of Dorney.

He was only previously in the marketing department of Cedar Point, and now he gets the huge promotion to manage Dorney. But he has been around for quite a while and seemed pretty integral in the development of the Dragster project.

It almost seems like this distribution of managers may have happened anyway, independent of the acquisition of Geauga Lake...the shuffle would just have happened without one more park to send them to. If I were Kinzel, I'm sure I would do something very similar to this.

By sending very qualified individuals who started out at Cedar Point to sister parks, he is solidifying that the Kinzel mentality of operations remains strong throughout the Cedar Fair properties after he retires. And by sending the parks these employees now, there is ample time to groom their replacements to perform just as well while holding their positions at Cedar Point.

Will Foamy become the next Strong Bad? I guess we will find out...

Caution: Foamy isn't quite as "PC" as Strong Bad.

From what I understand, with the help of numerous people, is that Oz moved up to Bob's spot, and Knauf moved up to Oz's spot. I don't know what the manager of merchandise stuff is all about. Guess we will find out soon!
