Anyhow, CP send me my last check with all of that stuff deducted. That's cool and all, but they would reimburse me if I sent all that jazz in, right? Secondly, do you guys think I could actually mail it in? An 8 hour round trip in the car to process out isn't my idea of a good time.
Well, I plan on calling HR to find out, just wondering if any of you had any experience with this.
Even if they don't reimburse you, it will definetly be a good idea to send all of your stuff back. Cedar Point is not happy about people leaving and taking CP property with them.
Because I was asked to come back and help out, and was given a great position with a great contract. I left when my contract was almost two weeks finished, at which point I drove home to NEW YORK. I was offered a deal to stay for the rest of the season but decided that it was time to grow up and start working on my career after about a week's worth of deliberation. Of course, at this point I was already home. So now I've still got all my stuff.
If they don't reimburse me I won't go through the effort of sending anything back, but I'm sure they will... I'll call ahead of time anyhow.
That is a very big no-no, and quite possibly will prevent you from being able to work there again, even though you finished your contract.
Uhm, no, that's not how it works. They're probably thrilled I haven't processed out, they just made 100 bucks on a STICKER. You think they're pissed? Hah...
FYI, the contract was fulfilled and then some and my departure was known well in advance. After your contract is fulfilled, you can go at any time without reprecussions unless you do something out of your way to screw something up or piss someone off, but everyone knew my deal so it came as no surprise.
I don't need to get rehired, but let me explain one more time just for kicks that I was INVITED to work back in the first place to help out for the start of the season (plus I wanted to work a couple weekends just for fun, but it's a double blue area position so that's not really a common deal). I was invited to stay after my contract was done as a head area supervisor (in fact another position would have been added for me if I wanted it). I left for home so I could think about it, I landed a job going towards my career that I would be insane to pass up, and in hectic-ness that followed I didn't get a chance to go back to Cedar Point to properly process out. This wasn't an "I QUIT!" deal by any stretch of the imagination.
Well, just for more kicks I'll ask it very simply this time:
Have any of you guys left CP before you fully processed out and had to mail your stuff in, and when/if you did, were you reimbursed? I'm simply wondering what the procedure was, not looking to be lectured on a situation that doesn't exist.
Actually, I think I CAN answer your question. I left this past summer without processing out. It was just best for me to go quietly and not draw attention to my leaving. After I returned home I sent back my ID, and if I remember correctly I was reimbursed for it, but I am having trouble recalling exactly. Another individual at the park had my room key, and I assume they turned it in as I was not charged for that either.
Sorry about the misunderstanding. Usually leaving without processing out is a big deal if you haven't finished your contract and they usually don't rehire people who do - I just hadn't known your situation was different.
