Processing In

How long does it usually take? the past years it has taken a while but with this new online scheduling i have no idea. I heard it takes over an hour this year but that doesn't make sense to me because they are in 15 minute increments when you schedule..

I processed in today, and it took about 2 hours to get through, and that's just in HR (I didn't go to wardrobe, you have to finish training before you can go and my class was after they closed). A large part of it is also the amount of people they have processing in at once, something like 20 people per 15 min with only 6 people working the counter. If everyone is doing it correctly that should not be a problem, but if people are screwing it up, well you get 2 hour waits.

Mostly because a lot of people didn't have everything done when they got there. Lots didn't have the paperwork filled out, had it done wrong, or didn't have some piece of paper they needed. A few didn't even bring the paperwork they were supposed to fill out!

I will say that when I got up finally (and they still did it in order of scheduled time, I was supposed to be there at 10:45 but I didn't get to the counter till 12:30. But no one from 11 went ahead of me) I had everything done, filled out correctly, ect. The lady handed me 3 papers to fill out while she reviewed what I had, then she signed everything and I moved on, less than 5 minutes. And that's the way it's supposed to work.

I will make another suggestion though if you are in housing, bring your deposit with you, money order, cash, or Certified check (no personal checks) they were sending people to the ATM's in the park but they were emptied pretty quickly so bring it with you. Also you MUST have an actual Social Security Card (even internationals!) Or a receipt from the SS office to even process in. It is needed for their payroll system and if you don't have it you don't work.

I suspect if they're taking people in order of their times, you should be able to sail right through.

That's good, because I picked the 8:00 time. Last year, I got there at 8:30, and didn't get out of HR til about 11:00.
