Processing in...

Hi I got my contract and I process in the 29th of april. What do you think my choice of housing will be like?

Kris
All housing is first come first serve. If you are getting there that early, I would compete for a room in the air conditioned dorms
With your contract starting that early, you ought to have no problem getting your choice: on-point, off-point, A/C, etc. Enjoy!

Not very good. At best you might get a bed in a large apartment. But most likely you will have to get a room in the on-point dorms.

lol 2 to 1. anyone else?

Ill be processing in the same day also (April 29th). Been told everything but Bayside should be open around that time, so it should not be too big of a deal. :)
Darn, i wanted bayside. oh well next is the a/c dorms for sure. if i can't get into either of those who knows.

Well I was just told it would likely not be available anymore... But ya never know. :) I think I might do the commons thing myself. I probably wont know for sure until I get there :)
dident someone say that they were tearing down some of the dorms...or was it they were building some new ones?
I don't know actually. I just know they have new dorms that are a/c that is all i know.

~~Kris~~
they are building them next to the dorm style common dorms...actually they are connected...and they cleared all the trees accross the street for a huge parking lot...there isnt supposse to be parking all at near the dorms..everyone has to cross bridge......
If you drive your own car up there, like i plan to do, where do you park it if your in dorms?

kris
Oops.:) I guess I was thinking of a later date.

There is a big lot across the street from the off-point housing. And are two possible lots for the on-point people. One is next to the Blue Streak, and the other is next to Soak City and Challenge Park. At least I think employees can leave there car in the second one. But I might be wrong.

Kris, I am sure that you have been to Cedar Point, and you remember the bridge that went across the Causeway Drive right before the stop light. Well when you are facing Cedar Point, on your right there is a huge parking lot. That is where you can park your car if you are living in the off point dorms. If you choose to live on point. You just park in the employee section of the lot closest to Disaster Transport.

Yeah hothitz but seasonal employees are STRICTLY prohibited from parking in there for more than like 10 minutes.

A couple years ago, seasonal employees were allowed to park back by the Gemini - a little tiny lot, and not really any closer than parking by Disaster Transport. I'm not sure if they still let you park there, though, or if it belongs to Soak City now - anybody know?

Yeah we're still allowed to park back there - but you gotta walk all the way to Magnum gate if you're in plain clothes cause you can only get in employee entrance back there in uniform (helped those of us who worked in zones 3 & 4!). :o/

Last year when I parked my car in the gemini lot, I had no problems getting in the gate back there even when I wasn't in uniform. As long as I had my CP id it wasn't a problem at all. Just my experience.

Well you can ask anyone who worked in the back of the park (for two straight years), I know you didn't Miss MF. If we wanted to get into that gate in non-uniform we had to wear our blues or our rainsuits over regular clothes (not that we'd EVER do that :oP). Of course, it probably depended on which cop was sitting back there. If it was the old guy that was usually there then there was no chance...
