Power Tower Cam

Either they took it down and moved it or just put up a different cam and kept the same web address. The latter would make more sense to me.

I've heard that they have more camera's in the park than we can possibly imagine. Hidden in the woods and such where we would never see them. They're probably for security purposes and most likely would never make it on to the web.

Last summer me and some friends were walking the midway towards the coliseum and we looked in one of the windows with the curtains. You could very obviously see a video camera sticking through the curtains. I agree that they have many cameras that we never see for security (since basically any employee can walk the park after close) and for liability in case something would happen...stuff like that.

**If you've ever watched the "Cedar Point: World's Largest Amusement Park" special on the Discovery channel, you might remember the section where they show the inside of the Park Security office... It is very obvious that they have cameras everywhere when you see all the TV monitors flipping to different park scenes. There are cameras on the gates, cameras on the parking lot, cameras in the shops... Where you would expect them to be, and some where you wouldn't.

Ok, I didn't really take any offense to anything you said. Don't worry about it! But what does SAMPO mean?

Actually, that camera was just a regular midway web cam. The cam image went to an Ohio tourism site, if I remember correctly. The reason I know this is because I spent a considerable amount of time in that particular office last summer.

A SAMPO is an old brand of t.v. which if you have seen in old pictures were big boxes with tiny little 3 inch screens but I first got it form the television show Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

"SAMPO"
