Power Outages

What Happens when you have a power outage on a ride with people on ito? Do the brakes lock up and stop the trains?

Brakes' "normal" position is closed, so they require power to release, not close.

Yes, the ride stops, and then you have to restart the lifts and cars and the computer and all of that. It really doesn't take long -- I've done outages on both ID and DT, and while they're more exciting than a run of the mill setup, it's no big deal.

This year the power went out on Raptor while I was on controls. It happened around 8:00pm and the power didn't come back on until we were leaving at 10:30 or so. The power went out just as the floor was dropping. The floor stopped halfway down. It was kind of cool. We had to do a walk down from the far block brake.
