3rd page:Halloweekends and soak City info
The Bad News...: On the back page are the hours for challenge park.
"2002 Challenge Park Operating Schedule: RipCord, Challange Golf, and Challenge Racers will be open May 5th, then daily May 11th - Sept 2nd, and Fridays - Sundays Sept 6 - Oct 27th"
Hmmmmm last time I checked VertiGO was a part of challenge park...should.nt it be listed?
There also a bit of info on challenge park on the inside but still, VertiGO isnt listed.

Personally, I would love to see this fixed and reopened as VertiGo wasn't open yet (I was two days off) when I visited last year.

The fact that no one "in the know" has denied this ride removal leads me to believe the ride will be leaving.

If they do take it down, there's certainly nothing preventing them from rebuilding it and correcting the problem.
Duh.

Ok, assuming that the wind factor was a large contribution to the cracks developing, I can't believe that S&S did not take this into account when building it. Everyone oohs and aahs when something bends a little (any smart person knows that metal is supposed to bend a little so it doesn't snap), but with CP being in such a harse environment on the lake and all, wind is an evergoing force up there. Were they not expecting such extreme wind forces or what? Let's just hope that if they do tear it down, S&S can correct the problems and rebuild the ride. I would love to see it operate again.

Now I'm not saying it is or isn't happening because to be honest I really have no clue on this one at all..Whatever CP does will be in the best interest of our saftey and I respect that.
All I'm saying is what good does it do to say "Yes its Gone" or "there tearing it down" when your not gonna back it up with proof eh? Otherwise peeps don't believe all you read until theres something more formal...especially from someone with a handful of posts ok?

I think you're all over-estimating the environment. Sure, there are some tough winter days, but give me a break. Magnum has been taking the brunt of it for a decade, and Space Spiral for several.
