My first tradition was hitting CP the thursday before labor day, but that had to stop when my son hit high school and his teachers got more strict about absences.
I must have a corn dog and cheese fries every trip, So I guess that is a tradition.

I always like to visit the beach and Breakers, especially the rotunda! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Live Long and Prosper"-Mr. Spock
There used to be an old employee tradition related to the Rotunda. At the end of the season, the housekeepers would gather up all of the linen and start piling it in the Rotunda.
The pile would get as high as the second floor. Then, daring housekeepers would go up to the fifth floor and dive over the railing into the big pile of linen. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!
Another fun game was "chute diving". Housekeepers would pile up linen at the bottom of the linen chutes and then dive down from above. Not the smartest thing but fun none-the-less.
Speaking of Traditions, that is the name of the Cedar Point training and orientation program.
Diving 3 stories down to the linen would be awesome! That sounds like fun. It would be a lot safer, and a much softer landing than jumping onto a small straw pile from a barn loft...:)

Cedar Point, the cure for the Summertime blues!
While not a one visit tradition...Ever since I first worked at CP (1980)..I have made sure to ride each and every ride at the park each season...Just something fun and weird..and if I know a ride is being "retired" this ride is then the last ride for the season.
The Red Garter tradition is a great one which will continue on for many years as long as PETE promises NO KARAOKE..;), unless we recreate Hot Country Nights, ( I get to be Todd)

VertiGo Rides - 82 Farewell my good friend..
OK, this probably sounds a bit lame, but every trip I make to CP, I have to take a front row ride in Maggie (usually first thing in the morning while others are rushing to MF), and on the way up the lift I give the plexiglass shield on the front car two knocks.
It's something that my brother and I started doing about 4 years ago, and it's something of a tradition now...:)
