POLL: Cedar Point Traditions?

Do you have a Cedar Point Tradition that you must do every trip?

Is there something you do or someplace you go as soon as you arrive?

What about the end of the day / your last day, is there a special attraction or meal you always do before you leave the Point?

Share your CP Traditions here.. Maybe we'll help to create new ones for other GTTP'ers.

One tradition that I have to each time I visit the point is to get cheese on a stick from the place by space spiral...the first think that i always ride in Demon drop

My WHOLE family and I always go to the park at least once a year together.

If you get rid of the square wheels on Mean Streak, There will be no mean left in the Mean Streak. Are we going to call it Streak now? KEEP IT AS IT IS!

On my first trip of each season, I like to start things off with the Blue Streak, the first coaster I ever rode (way back in kindergarten). Don't know why my family decided to bypass Jr. Gemini, Mine Ride, and Iron Dragon before taking me on this one, but I guess it worked, because look at me today, I'm a bona fide coaster nut.
Mine is the exact same thing as Jared's post...I always must have my cheese on a stick from the stand near the space spiral...no one really knows about it and it's great because it's hidden...it's the best snack in the whole park...if you really want to suffer a heart attack and piss off your arteries then try for two...Ah yes...nothing completes a great day at the point for me than a nice artery clogging snack of deep fried cheese on a stick...I also must ride at least every roller coaster in the park in one day because my girlfriend and I don't stay overnight....we will soon though, but not yet...so it's always a race to see if we can do it....we also ride other little rides like chaos, troika, etc...I would have a very depressing drive home if I knew I missed one single roller coaster

Be wary of falling shoes while waiting in line for Raptor

Jared, we always get that darn cheese on a stick at the Space Spiral too.

Another tradition is saying how much we miss the Earthquake and Pirate Rides.

We also play a game of Chicago Coin's Baseball and a few other hard to find classics.

We come back after leaving.

I always like to visit the beach and Breakers, especially the rotunda! One tradition I plan on doing when I have kids is to take thier picture next to a statue every year, like the Native American statue in Breakers. That way it will be interesting to see how much they have grown compared to the statue!

When we were growing up, we had a tradition on every opening day. First ride of the year was on the Midway Carousel. Then next door to the Mill Race for the second ride.

Back in the 70's, our "last ride" tradition was always the Mill Race.

Now, on the first day of our three-day stay, we hit every coaster in the park. At 5:00 that day, my 61-year old mother insists on getting a picture of the whole family (about 25-35 of us, depending on the year) outside the Breakers.

Hopefully starting a new tradition with the Father's Day Red Garter meet.

I don't know if it's a tradition, so much as exploiting a little-known secret. We usually will grab lunch or drinks at the refreshment stand in Kiddie Land. The lines are rarely very long, and they have most of the park-type goodies you're looking for at lunch time, and it tends to be pretty fresh. It's cool to get your lunch and watch all the poor saps on the main midway in those huge lines.

My tradition is before going to the Point.........early in the morning.....eat at Dennys...then get to CP at like 8:30am ,as soon as i get into the park........run to Millenium Force......at the end of the day...I make my last ride of the day....which is Raptor! Always a blast at CP.

-----------------
At the turn of the Millenium......there were signs...

Opening day... I get to the park early enough to watch them raise the flag out front.. Then head to Mantis...

Closing night.. I do the same after my last ride..

CP fan since 68.

I have several, some of which are outside the park. No trip to Sandusky is complete without dinner at Cedar Villa and a shopping trip to Sandusky Mall. Inside the park, french fries, with vinegar, consumed under the Sky Ride are a must. I always make it a point to walk through the lobby and rotunda of the Breakers. In past years I always played a game of Fascination in honor of my mother, the Fascination maven.
When I go with my family, we always hit all the coasters at least once and then grap some Elephant Ears on the Frontier Trail

I have to get a souvenir map. I have to ride Iron Dragon. Now Millennium Force. :) Plus every trip I have to make fun of the laser show. Except now I can't say every trip... It's also hard to do all the mentioned things, after all, I can't buy a souvenir map, everyday, nor ride ID or MF, nor make fun of the laser show everyday.... ;)

When I was a kid, and staying at the Breakers, we always got a bag of french waffels to take back to the room, and then rode the Sky Ride as the last ride to see the midway at night, and as transportation to make for a shorter walk. The Father's Day Red Garter meet is a great new tradition. I'm planning to be there, maybe after a few beers I'll even do Karaoke.

-----------------
It's very hard to drink all day...
Unless you start first thing in the morning.

Ahh yes.. the Father's Day meeting.. forgot about that one...

Although... I doubt they have "Ohh Canada" on the disc's for OTT..
