^^^You should try them once :P
I will agree with the carousel part...It was nice to see those for once, considering I truly never do pay attention to them...
Btw...that's alot of primer, sanding & painting lol

I once rode the frog hopper because I waited in line for the power tower and when I got to the front I apparently shrunk and wasn't tall enough anymore.
Totally worth it

Obviously you know this since you work at CP, but I assume situations like this are exactly why you can be "officially measured" at guest relations. Some guy with his son had this situation at Wicked Twister last year and caused a big scene. If people knew they could get an official measurement if they were borderline, it probably wouldn't be such an issue.
Unless Cedar Point runs it like Kings Island where their official measurement is not so official since the ride op has the final say anyways.

Very nice actually. I have worked with the gentleman who did the original restoration of that machine and took care of it until he left in 1977. It's interesting to note that they are pretty much using the paint pallet that he developed for that machine .

Seems odd, but I suppose that could happen. I was under the impression that it's the ride ops' butts on the line if they let anyone on that isn't tall enough, but it's okay if "top brass" signs off on it. Why have the system if they ride ops won't honor it?
I thought she did a good job with this Point Cast, the only thing I thought that needed a little editing was the ending. Someone must have accidentally hit the mute button or something at the end.
I thought the system was suppose to be the trusted measurement but this was not true (well at least that day). My brother had the little wristband and everything but then was told he was too short to ride. Even though he rode 4 times before this with no problem.

I wish that EVERYONE brought their kids to park ops to get official measurements.
Sometimes you get the occasional case where parents try to put the wrist bands on the shorter children from their older children. You can usually tell because the wrist band is all mangled. It's really annoying dealing with the parents that are bold face lying to you. They will flail their child's arm in your face proclaiming "LOOK THEY ARE WEARING A WRISTBAND THEY ARE 52 INCHES TALL" when they are sometimes inches shorter.
Luckily that does not happen too often, but that is one reason why you have to check, even with wristbands.
As for my personal experience on the power tower as a child, my step dad checked me at the entrance, and an employee checked me at the front of the line. Perhaps I was standing a little taller. Coming from the other perspective now, I've learned that my technique of pointing my chin up is a common one done by children of my height at the time, attempting to be taller.
Also, your spine slowly constricts when standing all day, so it could very well be possible that I was just -slightly- shorter. Either way, the employees were doing their job, and being in that position myself, I have done the same thing.

We did a multi park trip last year, and my daughter was a differant height at almost all the parks.
Between two of the parks, there was a 2 inch differance.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I agree with my fellow employee above. EVERYONE if they think their child is close should take them to Park Operations right away in the morning to get a wrist band. Once they have that wrist band all rides in the park that it is good for should honor it, except for in cases where it looks like tampering has been done.
The rule of thumb for ride hosts is that if a child is within a small margin of the height stand and they have the wrist band they are good to go, even if their head doesn't hit the bar. But if they don't have that wrist band and the bar does not touch their head, they can't ride. No matter how many rides they have been on before.
Hope this helps.

Now I feel very, very old.
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
Well a quick run out to the car for a change of shoes did the trick and he was then tall enough once again plus we got him remeasured at the booth.

What a bunch of lame-ass haters. You do realize that Tony was a radio/TV personality guy who did PR, and not the other way around? She'll work into a groove. I for one am glad that they felt it was necessary to fill the position at all.

I just like being a lame-ass hater! :)
I'm going to give her at least two more PointCasts before I recommend a Dale Carnegie course, and those things are no joke. But anyways, I think she'll do just fine in the future.
For anyone who went to the off-season event, did she seem at all nervous or awkward toward the enthusiasts?
I thought it was a great webcast. Very little hype and a ton of facts and information. I just hope that they are produced more frequently than in the past and they don't resort to the schtick that Tony & Tyler did.
Overall, as long as she doesn't don an eyepatch and have a constipated looking grin on her face - she's going to be a great replacement!

I didn't go, but a bunch of creepy dudes with social problems is enough to make any girl a little creeped out :)
It helped that you weren't there. ;)
Oh and steve, are you trying to say something here? What do you have against eye patches and constipated grins? :D

I didn't have any problems with her handling of the Pointcast. It was her first one. She is still finding her rhythm. Take it easy people. My issue with the Pointcast was that anyone who has been to the carrousel museum in town knows that the Kiddy Kingdom Carrousel is, in fact, not a carrousel. Any ride of that kind with animals more than horses is a menagerie. I think that would have been a good "fun fact" for her to have known and shared with fans of the park.
Spinner, Marco, and Craig are my homeboys.

It was mentioned in the video that it was a menagerie.
