Becca's first PointCast is up on YouTube.

Interesting to note that it very much differs in style from the old Tony and Tyler PointCasts.
Wow, tough crowd. I thought the video was good. Keep in mind, she's only been there for a matter of weeks and this is the first of many videos, I'm sure. Plus, Tony was a radio guy before Cedar Point and he's a TV guy now. That's not really a fair comparison.
Just something that I noticed, did the HD camera leave with Tony?
I just happened to notice that the video was not available in the same resolution as the last videos that Tony did.
I didnt think Becca did a bad job at all. I dont think she did any worse than the first few pointcasts on file.
Beeeeehhhhhhh!!!!!
I enjoyed the information on the carousel horses and thought the presentation was fine. As Walt said, Tony is a professional broadcaster, Becca did a fine job for a non-broadcaster and I'm sure she will just get better with more experience.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I'm with Walt; I think some of you are looking for reasons to complain. Sure, I can think of several things she could have done to make it a little better, but she did a fine job with it.
Those of you who didn't care for it...let's see you do better. Any volunteers?

[sarcasm]OMG this is the worst video ever! [/sarcasm]
Honestly she did fine. She handles being on camera better than I do (shameless plug).
Keep up the good work Rebecca, I'm sure I speak for everyone by saying we look forward to future PointCasts.

That is indeed shameless. I watched it again and I love the clock masking-taped to the wall haha.
In regards to the Pointcast, I kinda agree with the scripted part, but at the same time it makes no difference. It's her first go at it. I'm sure she'll be just fine once she gets a few under her belt.

Ooh, pick me, pick me!
To me this PointCast just seemed a bit more like a news report and not an interaction. She seemed very tense the one time she spoke on camera, and she never interacted with her guests on camera. I'll attribute this to rookie jitters for now, but I think she just needs to relax, let loose, and have fun!
Also with the give her a break crowd. Let her find her own way, instead of comparing her to Tony, or Tyler. These are meant to be informative and fun...not up for a "best editing daytime Emmy". It's a frickin' Cedar Point Pointcast.
In fact, I found this a rather interesting killing of time. We all know that an immense amount of work goes into getting rides ready, but the focus is always (and for good reason) on the coasters...look how much crazy time/detail goes into 1 little carousel? A ride that most of you (without a 3-year old) probably don't ever even look at when you visit CP. Crazy detail. They spend more time on one horse than I do on my deck.

Next time I go on the carousel, I will make sure to ride the donkey.
Becca did great! Can't wait to see more point casts!

Got my own page on the cedar point blog!!!
One day you will, Adam...one day. :) Our daughter has really opened us up to so many little details around the park, we still find something new on most visits.
By the way, this was the first time I had a chance to view your video, so I enjoyed the shameless plug...I can see why it won!
