Point of Advice

Some advice before showing up to HR for processing in:

1) make sure you meet the grooming guidelines to the T. No tattoos on face neck or hands (they will check, even behind your ears and hair), no piercings outside the guidelines, no crazy hair color (even two toned hair has been turned away), no unnatural nailpolish or long nails. And guys-be sure to be cleanly shaven and no long hair. I have watched so many people wait in line for hours, just to be turned away because they dont meet the guidelines. they will make you shave/take off polish/etc and go to the back of the line.

2) Bring some cash with you in case you don't make it to training and can't get into housing right away. I have seen this happen countless times. You may need a hotel room at the last minute-sad but true.

3) Be sure to bring your valid ID, Any prescription drugs, and tax information with you. If you go for a drug test and have a medication that may show up, you have to provide the script for it.

Hope these suggestions help any new people-feel free to add to the list!

I have thick curly hair & i got it vut down yesterday its a lil under 2 inches (i measured) andd i was wondering if that would be a problem for them

Uh, for my past two years I didnt take my training classes the same day and they still let me check into housing..

But anyways, I wouldnt even bother wearing nailpolish to process in with, even natural colors they're okay with. Sometimes they get upset and what not and make you take it off anyways.

We are also now allowed to have natural color highlights and chunking in our hair. That doesnt mean if you have black hair go all crazy and but bleach blonde highlights, but you have some more room to work with :)

Also, besure to have all of your paperwork printed, singed, dated before going into HR. If you need help with any of the tax questions, I would definetly recommend asking your parents, or your local Accountant. You don't want to mess that part up, because if you do, you might not get your tax money back. Don't know that for sure, but it could be true. Also, bring the original Social Security card with you to HR. They will need that for Payroll Purposes. Make sure you're on-time to HR & Training classes because if not, they will make you reschedule. Hope this helps.
