Please help us find our missing friend

We are looking for a friend of ours that went to work for cedar point in April of 2003. His name is Cody Waymire and he worked on Top Thrill Dragster but changed to Power Tower. The last time we herd from Cody was around June 5th. His mother called Cedar Point around June 10th because she had not herd from him in over 2 weeks. The only help she got when she called was his roomate that said that he came home from work and found that all of his stuff was removed and that no one knew where he went. For several weeks several phone calls to Cedar Point and voice mail messages were left. No answers were given till mid-july when someone from Park Operations told his mother that the file indicated that on June 12th he went home Ill and never returned. We have not seen or heard from him since June 5th. We are not sure why Cedar Point was so slow in providing us with what little information they claim to have. We are hoping that someone that he worked with will see this and tell us anything they know about him and most importantly where is he. Did the family file a missing persons report?

We just became aware of this site this week-end, we only wish we had known of it earlier. Yes a missing persons report had been filed in Kansas (his legal residence) however it is low priority as he is of age. We thought we would just see if anyone knows what happened. Cedar Point will not release any information to us. The police say that Cedar Point claims that he just left and never even told any members of management as to why or where he was going so we are hoping someone knows something. Thanks for your help and concern

Maybe you should somehow post a picture so people can see what he looks like and if they recognize him or somethin they might be able to help. good luck...and i wish i had some information to help you.

JUst wondering are you talking to the CPPD or the Sandusky PD? You might want to try them both. I wanted to wish you the best of luck but I personally know some people who left for places far and wide (california, canada, etc.) without telling certain people intentionally. And Dan - If you read Brian's signature he is working on Dragster THIS year, he would have been across the midway on corkscrew (or maybe somewhere else) but why would anyone have to know anything. Plus I feel this post was directed at people who were employees and might be able to help, and your not....

As much as it hurts to say it the police department in Sandusky have concluded that he left with a group of people that quit the same time. In recent weeks we have got some information that he might be in the Orlando area but we have called all major theme parks and Universal is the only park not to give a answer right away, as a matter of fact we were transfered to some Food and Beverage office and left a voice mail. no call back as of yet. I do see several posts from the corkscrew crew last year. In several postcards and in a picture he sent us he was very close to several corkscrew crew members by the name of Jen and Casey. He seemed to mention them alot. He also sent a picture of him his bossa and 3 other girls from power tower, he did not tell us his name just wrote boss and guess what? Chicken but?????. Does anyone know who was the team leader was last year or what does guess what/chickenbut mean? Do these people ring a bell?? We have posted a picture of Cody in the user information but it is not showing up as it must be approved. Myself and the Waymire Family would like to thank you all for your concern.

ok jorden....this is megan....i worked on power tower last year with cody....guess what chicken butt is something we did.... something we did to get a laugh..... cody told us that he was quitting because something was wrong with him... and he need to get help.......John LaJoy was the team leader and Jody Speigal was the assiant team leader.... i hope this helps some

There was a Jen and a Kasey on Corkscrew early on in the season, but both transferred to other departments around early June. I think Jen went to Live Entertainment and Kasey to Food Services @ Breakwater. I came to CP after Memorial Day, so I didn't know either of them very well. Good luck with the search, and I really hope everything turns out okay.

I remember who cody is, I know his exact look and everything. He was very funny and a very nice person to hangout with. I remember him working dragster and I do have a photo of him from dragster, I know exactly who you are talking about, Its sad to hear about this, it seems like he left before me, I thought he was still there before I left, I dunno.

Hi Jordan, I'm sorry to hear about Cody. I worked with Cody on Dragster in the beginning of the season. He eventually moved off of Dragster because he was losing a lot of weight. He told us that he couldn't work more than 12 hours a day. So he went over to Power Tower. I asked someone why I hadn't seen Cody and all I was told was that he was sick and losing a lot more weight than what he should have so he had to go home. But you have to remember that this is Cedar Point a lot of wrong information can get spread around. I am so sorry Cody was a great guy. I hope you can find out information. If you do find out where he is please let us know.

I know I am not an employee either so please excuse me for butting in. This is a long shot but I work at a hotel near cleveland and I remember some employees who just quit Cedar Point about the time you are talking about, the situation you are describing with the person losing weight and some names that are being brought up strike a strong similarity to the people that were staying here. I will try to dig up some files to see If I can get any info for you. If I remember correctly one of the guys name was Walt Genberg or something similar. If that name rings a bell or you want me to do some more searching let me know. Good Luck!

Even thought I don't know Cody I hope you find him. This probally isn't what you want to hear but I have worked with homeless shelters in the Cincinnati area and often we encounter people looking for their loved ones. The people staying there are quite often young people who left home and just need a temporary place to stay. My advice would be to call (or go if possible) to every shelter in the Orlando area as soon as possible.
I'm really sorry and i hope you find him. If you need any help please contact my since I have some experience in trying to locate people.
