The logical way to handle re-entry would be to have the pass as a "check-in / check-out" system. The way it should be: If you wish to re-enter the park, you have to "check-out" and have your card scanned when you leave, and you cannot re-use it at any park but the one you left for that day... and set a minimum "away" time for say 30 minutes so that passing a pass back and forth would prove to be non-beneficial? Not that it really is now anyways with the photo software.
i agree with you. your solution sounds the most logical. i hope they apply something similar to this in the future because it would make it so much easier.
How is that more logical than allowing passholders to scan their pass as many times as necessary? The picture pops up on a screen. I guess twins could cheat the system, but since there aren't very many of those (in relation to the rest of us) its not that big of an issue.
I can go to Disney, buy a ticket that DOESN'T have my picture attached to it and enter and exit as many parks as I want on the same day without having my hand stamped. Why can't Cedar Point (which has ONE park) do this?

Well the passes are good at all the Cedar Fair parks, and while its rare, I'm sure a few people have made it to both Kings Island and Cedar Point in a single day. I just really don't understand why they can't just let you come and go as you please with a season pass, much like they do at ski resorts.
My point was, I can go to Magic Kingdom, then leave, go to EPCOT, and then back to Magic Kingdom without getting my hand stamped. I just scan my pass at each gate and walk on in.

Hopefully this is something they can fix in the near future. Should be an easy software fix to better serve the Pass holders.

The hand-stamp method is used because it's cheap, quick and nearly fool-proof. Scanning passes may be a good idea for season pass holders, but for individuals using paper tickets, it's a nightmare. Rain and water rides all will mess with the ticket, that is, if they even hold on to it the whole day. Hand-stamping isn't failing, so they're not going to change it.

I've gotten into the park twice in one day with my pass and without a stamp. We left the park one day because it was raining and didnt bother getting a stamp because we didn't think we would be back. The rain cleared up so we decided to go back. We went to the gate and explained what happened and we walked right in, showing our passes but they didn't scan them.
Also though in relation to the stamp, I've been to Soak City and had a shower without my stamp going away. Just because it isn't visible to you doesn't mean the black light won't show it.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
The gate agent told us that they don't allow re-entry with the pass because after the first scan your picture doesn't show up.
From the CP website:
Unlimited admission to any Cedar Fair amusement park or outdoor waterpark for the duration of the 2008 operating season. Platinum Pass also includes (formerly Joe Cool Club).
Would being able to have your pass scanned only once a day be considered Unlimited Admission? Not in my book. What was their reasoning? I have no idea.

thats because a big red X comes on the screen where your pic should be to let the ticket scanner know not to let you in again.

couldnt this be considered false advertisement in some way because it is very misleading and not true.
^ - how is it not true? You get your hand stamped and can go in and out as much as you want. So there is no false advertising claim. There are more efficient ways to handle it though, and one is to pass holders to not have to worry about getting hand-stamps. Call it another Point Perk.

A few years back, went back to the breakers when it started raining. I stayed in the pool so long that my bathing suit faded from the chlorine and my skin wreaked of bleach so badly that i had to soak in the bath tub with any soap i could find to help hide the smell... Imagine my suprise when my handstamp stil showed up.
If this was truly a problem, don't you think they would have come up with something better than a handstamp by now? How long has soak city been around? I'll take the handstamp anyday rather than risking losing my pass by needing to carry it around all of the time.
Okay with a platinum pass if I visit the park in the morning, go back to our hotel. Than go back to the park, and than back out of the park for lunch, and once again to the park for dinner, and than back to the park again.
I will have issues with this many entries?
Yeah I guess I never leave without the stamp.
But my girlfriend and I are nice and impatient and we saw a line of people leaving the park and we could have just walked out. Now we didn't but you are saying had we left the park with no stamp we would have been denied entry?
I was like well heck if we leave we have platinum passes how could they deny us, we get in as much as we want....
What about the fact we have Michigan Adventure ID's that do not even register in the system?
Aka it seems to be done on a good faith based system. I show my card to them, sign the sheet, and walk in. They do not spend the time to verify....
