They don't need anything big to counter this, and attendance won't go down because of it.Mostly everyone knew X-Flight was a POS, and it was ugly as hell in the front of the park. If anything, it gives GL a more attractive roadside "curb appeal" if you will, that will really clear the park of it's former "flagging".
I'm looking at the standpoint that I've often heard it referred to as being one of the, if not the highlight attraction of the rides side; and that's not coming from my mouth.

Well, there are two things about that. One, I believe the third train was gutted for parts quite a while ago, so they may almost have to buy a whole new train. Second, I think X-Flight was similar to Mantis and Top Thrill Dragster in the respect that running less trains, in this case two, is more effective capacity wise.
there was a third train? (green, dark blue and Black?)
i do agree with less is best two => two stations equals two trains, right

There was a third train, however it was only around during its early years with SF (and I wasn't a regular SFWoA patron) so I can't remember how often it ran three. I think it usually ran two. The third was being kept in a storage area close to Grizzly Run, and I believe it was a dark blue, green, and black or purple.

Nobody will miss this ride. There's way too many coasters packed into that park anyways. For those of you saying this will hurt GL, you're wrong. GL was a beautiful park before Six Flags killed it with their coaster building binge. Now Cedar Fair is cleaning up the mess.
Geauga Lake was never intended to be a high attendance park. It's far too small and too close to Kings Island and Cedar Point. Cedar Fair realizes this and is returning GL to its former glory as a family park, pre-Six Flags. Clearly, this is how GL will be most profitable.

I heard at PKI there was land clearing behind Flight Of Fear.

This is all new to me. The only amusement parks I've been to are CP and PCW. For the end of May 2007 I am planning a trip to CP, GL, and PKI, for almost a week to check out 2 new parks. I did some research and X-Flight looked like a good ride. If it moves to PKI, that works for me because that way I'm not not getting to ride it, I'm just riding it in a different place than I thought I would.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I honestly don't see the point to moving it to KI. You're going to send a ride that isn't by any means new to one of your biggest parks and pass it off as being something "new?" It might fly at a smaller park, but I don't think it'd have the same effect at a larger one.

Speaking of Kings Island, does anyone think anything ever be done with King Cobra? Even though they have a slow load/unload, I like the Togo stand-up coasters. I think that they are more comfortable then the B&M stand-ups.

King Cobra has been sold and will be removed by the end of December. It's going to the blast furnace. :(
