Lighthouse Point.

No better place to stay.

Goodbye MrScott

John

Thanks I will look into it......I assume this will get me in the park before the public?

Yes. Staying at any of the Cedar Point resorts will get you into the park 1 hour early.

Last i looked Lighthouse Point was totally booked for july,a very busy month.

If you can't get into LHP, try for the Breakers. I've stayed there many times and I'm yet to have a horror story, which is something I can't say about most places I've stayed at.

It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.

What outside of CP Hotels would you recommend, I need a room for CoasterMania and don't need to stay OnPoint. I want the best bang for my buck. I already have a Parking Pass and JC.

Just did a Hotels.com search, and it looks like the Rodeway Inn on 250 a half mile from the park is only 63.00 a night for Friday night... Thats the best price I could find close to the park, but I've never stayed there to know how it is.

Wow I did a seach too and prices sure do skyrocket in the summer. I've stayed at the Super 8 in May and October a few times and paid around $60 but for July prices are around $90.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I stayed at the Roadway Inn on 250 last summer for 2 nights and it was nasty. Try to stay away from that place. On kayak.com I found the Best Budget Inn on cleveland road has a price of $56.

In the park: Lighthouse point.... out of the park: La Quinta. As far as any hotel booked on a third party website (Expedia, Hotels.com, etc) You may not have a problem but Because of the low rate, it gaurentees you a room but not a room type. I work in a hotel and any hotel can change your room type as they please because of the low rate. Sure this may make people mad but usually its a fight with hotels.com or the third party website to cancel your room after the fact anyway. Its a pain and thats why I would never book through a third party.

If you are looking for cheaper hotels, I have heard that Maples is a pretty good family owned hotel that is near the park. Breakers Express is also a pretty good hotel and it is Cedar Point's cheapest offering. It is a few minutes away from CP but you still get the early entry and it is pretty nice. I would say that its quality is just a little below Holiday Inn's. (and it doesn't have a continental breakfast if you want that)

Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless

We are staying at the South Shore, which is onlya half mile fromthe park is relatively cheap. We have stayed there before and like it a lot. The Knight's Inn is also cheap. We like staying east of the causeway, we have found less traffic going into the park from that direction.

The maples is a fine place to stay... but you have to be a real heavy sleeper. They are right across the street from a railroad crossing that doesn't stop running all night. about every 15mins or so. When we stay there we just turn on some music and it takes care of the noise.

try Castawaybay that has pretty nice rooms and a good atmosphere

JTaylor did you stay in the cabins or the motel area? I'm looking to take my husband away for his birthday and wanted something nice, yet cheap to stay at. Has anyone ever stayed at the "park cabins" at Bayshore Estates?

We were in the motel section. It wasn't bad we were there on opening weekend... the trains drove my wife crazy!

The motel was clean and they kept it up very well. It is a bit on the old side, so don't expect the hilton or anything. But the price was right and your seconds from the back entrance to the park (hugh time saver in the mornings... no traffic!) with a great lakeshore drive along with some really nice houses.

As long as the owners aren't shady characters. Last year we stayed at the Howard Johson across the causeway. The owners were some interesting people, I wouldn't recommend that place to anyone.

I've stayed at the Super 8 three times before. Last week, however, was bike week in Sandusky and the Super 8 happens to be right next door to the Harley Davidson dealership. When I pulled into the parking lot I already had read signs around and saw that the parking lot was full of bikes so we left and went to La Quinta. The prices were about the same. I've never had a problem at the Super 8. The rooms are nice and clean and the contennential breakfast was good too. At La Quinta our room had ants other various bugs around the window and in a corner of the bathroom but the breakfast was good there too. Next time I go though, I'll stick with Super 8.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I ALWAYS stay at Maples Motel on Cleveland Rd. Yeah there are trains but the rooms are clean, and the owners are AWESOME! Joan will take good care of you. Her prices are very reasonable.
