I went to Paramonts (CedarFairs) Kings Island today and I couldn't believe how fast CedarFair is taking over! I loved it!
Everywhere you went you would see people with clipboards and survays, measuring how many people ride the ride in a certain hour, what shows were good and bad(mainly for audiences survays), the workers even mentioned several times how they have to be on "Top Alert" because of "New Management"
Also-it was very dead today.(Kings Island) I got the first ride, front/back row on FaceOff, 3rd ride of the day on Drop Zone, Top Gun Front Seat in less than 3 mins,.....all the lines were short! The longest was Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle (20min) but our luck ran out when the lazer guns in our train didn't work...but it was all good. Got the whole park, and a show or two done in under 8hours-and we took our time, after the 3-starter-ride-rush.
Only 3 more days till the Point!

I haven't been to KI yet and hope that my CP season pass or Ohio pass or whatever CF comes up with works there in 07. Then I won't have to stare at my computer watching coasters until CP opens in May. I've been dying to go to KI for years, especially to ride the Beast, now a CF coaster!
Im going to PKI for vacation on Wednesday. It will be my first time and I'm looking foward to riding the Beast (whole point of going pretty much) Does any1 know how much the ride has changed due to the trims?
Well, I've only ridden it since the trims have been added, but from the accounts I've read, it is quite a bit more tame than it used to be. But don't worry, that last helix is still quite the element. :)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

When they say to keep your arms and legs inside the train, the tunnel on that last helix is the reason why.... I've almost lost an arm or two in that tunnel...

It's changed a ton. The first drop isn't as pressured as Mean Streak's Trims, but noticeable enough to mess up The Beast's rush. Then what is usually the Beast's only airtime in the second drop is destroyed. Otherwise it's completely the same.
It's still a wonderful ride with more of an out of control feeling than any other woodie I've been on. I think the "Beast's lair" tunnel at the end is much more exciting on the left side. You're really close to the wall.

Since this is Pointbuzz, I expect this could be locked easily so...back to Cedar Fair's changes...
When I was there doing the ACE walk back thing our guide, "Marlene" said she helped conduct all the surveys and we should take them. They seemed to just be park related, (I didn't take them) and I expect to see more small improvements. Just little touches that could make the park look a lot better. Anyone else think these kind of things could happen?
Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~
I rode the Beast in May of this year and found it to be a very relaxing ride until the helix. It used to have that run-away feeling in the first half, but they have now breaked it so much it might as well be a mine train coaster.
Such a shame. :(

Actually, I feel that the mine train coaster at KI is very out of control feeling. Until it dumps you off the lift hill and into the station at the end, of course.
They slowed the Beast down a LOT. It's always been my dad's favorite roller coaster. He did say that the double-helix/tunnel is about the same speed. But they slow you down more on the first drop and the first, and second turn. (on the ride, youll know what I'm talking about).
If you want to get "ripped up" sit in the back"er" part of the train, and board the train frist(the far side of the train), so your on the outside part of the double-helix.
Enjoy.
Also, the little kid behind us on the ride seemed to love it. Screamed like a little girl, which was very entaining, cause that's what I did when my dad took me on it for the first time a long time ago. When he got off the ride he said "Mom, dad, that ride tried to KILL me!"
So it's still the good''ol classic BEAST
Also, I would STRONGLY reccomend you do NOT ride Tomb Raider if your a guy. If you do, please support yourself by pushing with your feet on the part infront of you. The seat belt comes overyour shoulders and has a "bump" thing that nails your right in the crotch and when it jerks you around it's a very unpleasent feeling. I know Delerium has the same type of seatbelt, but it doesnt hurt on the ride.
I can also say that they tammed down Tomb Raider as well. I was on the first ride ever kind of thing where you bid on the seats (for charity) and loved it when it first opened. But now they ruined the whole experince by making it lighter while you wait in line/wait in the rooms, .....you'll see if you ride it. They added some new affects in the fire part of the ride but I swear they don't flip you as much as they used to.
have fun at the park.

Oh my goodness! I almost jumped out of my chair in excitement for you! You are set for the best possible day at PKI! We went on the 5th of July last year, and EVERYTHING was walk on by 3 o' clock! Have a great time! Oh yeah, and ride Delirium for me please! It has been closed the last two years (maybe 3, its been so long since I have ridden it, I can't remember) that we have been there. And then we go to CP this year and I'm all excited about riding Maxair and guess what...it was down all day! Those frisbees hate me! Have a great time!
Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless
Well since the thread is about Cedar Fair taking over PKI, and it's morphed to a disscussion over my trip Wednesday, then I guess ill throw some questions in there.
What are the best times to ride certain rides?
and...
Do they supply you with a park map when you enter like CP does?

That is Adventure Express
PKI is my home park

I suggest, running to Face-Off right away-the slowest boarding ride, then Drop Zone, then Top Gun. (wait for the front seat on Top Gun). I didn't go on Son Of a Bit**, i mean Son of Beast because that ride is like boot-camp. Then head over to Italian Job (because by that time, everyone that went to that ride right away is done by now) then Tomb Raider, and then the Beast. That's what I did, and it worked out fine. Eat lunch after that. I would recommend "Wings" if you like Pork or Rib sandwiches. Or if you like Pizza, go to the place by Delerium. Rest, wait in line for The Log Flume, Scooby Doo<<<those were the longest lines I had to wait, but needed the rest for our stomachs.
Make sure you go to School of Rock show if you like RockandRoll.Or the movie.
Flight of Fear is one that will have a long line.
I park isn't too bad, and can be finished in, like I said, under 8 hours. But take your time and go to a few shows.
oh, sorry. I forgot about the park maps. You get your own map after your in the park. There on a huge wall right after you give them your ticket, you can't miss'em. If people are trying to take your picture, you've gone to far.

I suggest going to either Flight Of Fear or Face/Off first.
And hit TRTR DZ Delirium early. *** Edited 7/3/2006 5:17:56 PM UTC by TOPGUN1993***

Last few times I've been to PKI Delirium's line has been steady throughout the whole day. And the longest I've had to wait for it is 3 ride cycles.

On TRTR the worst ride is in the front row ride in the back two.
