Pizza-Sandusky

Tried the pizza at Chet and Matt's last year and went back through old posts to see about other places. Saw a place called Cameo (some say better than Chet and Matts), but never saw an address. Will be at the point Sun. and Mon. and would like to try this place if loctaed near Sandusky. Thanks for the help w/the address.

I found an address and phone number via SmartPages.com:

702 W Monroe St, Sandusky

626-0187

I have never been there myself. I have a tendency to visit Marco's Pizza whenever I'm in town.

Thanks. Thought I would make a post to get the address, since people might list their favorite place. I am always willing to try new pizza. I'll look up that Marco's and try it on a future visit.

the meijer has a good deal on their pizzas at the snack bar, perfect if all you want is BIG and CHEAP.

Chett and Matt's by far has the best pizza I've ever had. Eating pizza in the Sandusky area (they're actually in Perkins Twp, IIRC) somwhere that *isn't* Chett and Matt's is sacreligous.

Never tried Chett and Matt's but I can certainly vouch for Cameo. Really good pizza and a sports bar type of atmosphere. Maybe I'll try Chet and Matt's when I'm there next week.

I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74

I tried the Cameo pizza branch on Put-In-bay, they do have pretty good pizza.

As said before, Chet & Matt's is just another version of Cameo, since the owners of C&M's used to be part of Cameo, before a big family dispute I believe.

That said, I still think Cameo is the better version, and most Sandusky pizza officinados would agree.

Before reading this thread I never eve knew anyone ate at Cameo, actually. Everyone I've ever talked to is a C&M fanboy/fangirl.

Chet and Matts is definately the way to go if for some reason you havent already figured that out. Cameo is good but there is no pizza that even compares to the greatness of Chet and Matts

I have to chime in again on the pizza issue. Chet & Matt's pizza is fair at best. Chet & Matt's is a popular hang-out for sports teams and high schoolers and their parents. They have a large dining area, and run a big buffet as well, but their pizza product is not anywhere near the same quality as the original Cameo, down on Monroe Street. I can't stress enough, if you want really a good pizza, go to the original Cameo. They take a lot more care with their product than they do at Chet & Matt's. Also, Pizza Brothers, at the intesection of Monroe & Camp Streets does a good pizza. Pizza House on Rt 6 through town is also good, but you can zip past it and not know it is there. East of Chicago Pizza is also pretty good, but can be inconsistent. Dominos pizza is good, but you can get that in Anytown USA. I like to go to local places with a good rep.

Cameo is the best Pizza in Sandusky in my opinion. Chet & Matt's is pretty good but Cameo has a much better crust.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I gotta go with Cameo's. Its the original before Chet and Matts was around. Good atmosphere for the older than high school crowd and great pizza.

I thought East of Chicago was orgasmic - but I'll have to try these other places.

What're the prices like?

There is also marcos pizza.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Until the price jack up on the buffet this year and the deletion of online coupons, I would have argued for East of Chicago, but anymore its not that great a deal

The price makes it taste better?

The best pizza places in sandusy are probably pizza house east and Chet and Matts. If you want a buffet then east of chicago is the way to go. But I love pizza house. They have great pizza, and their subs are to die for. If you want value... then pizza pan is pretty good, they're new to sandusky.. But they have a buy one get two free deal if you pick it up yourself. now.... time to get phonebook in here.
