Did you try it? If so, was it good?

I went to the buffet on Friday night. It was pretty good. There were 5 or 6 kinds to choose from, and it tasted great. They had the standard Midway Market dessert bar, which is always amazing.

The pizza at Midway Market, no, the entire park, absolutely sucks. It's the most average pizza I've had at any amusement park.

They need to get in touch with the folks at Dorney about that specialty pizza they have down the midway from Laser. Wow, that's good stuff. I had a white garlic pizza that was about as good as Pizzazz here in the Cleveland area. Quality stuff.

Steph and I were actually thinking on Friday, in the midst of a pretty crappy night at the park, that CP's food overall is ridiculously average or below average, save for the fries and funnel cakes. Honestly, the other park staples, like burgers, chicken and such, are average to not good. The crap they serve in Red Garter and The Venue Formerly Known As Lusty Lil's is some of the most retched stuff I've ever consumed.

Speaking of chicken, would it kill them to bring back the chicken barbecue that used to be where the MF onride photo is now? My God, the smell alone enhanced the park to a level rarely seen in an amusement park.

About the pizza, the sad thing is that the pizza they used to serve at Hotel Breakers was great stuff. Really good fresh crust. Then, a few years ago, they switched to some wretched pre-baked cardboard crust. Now it's not really worth eating.

I gotta disagree about Red Garter though. The pork sandwiches are terrific, made with the Montgomery Inn sauce.

Well, merchandise did a 180 this season. Maybe food service will follow for next?

I agree with Jeff...bring back the BBQ chicken. That was a staple for every trip I made to the point until it's removal.

I agree the pizza is average at best and I generally avoid it. But I like the charbroiled burgers at the Burger Patio under the Skyride, even if they are expensive. Not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst.

I like the burgers also. Generally, I think the fast food at CP is pretty mainstream, about the same quality as you get at McDonald's or Burger King. And they do a great job with sanitation and food safety, from what I've seen, so I like eating it.

The sit down restaurants, especially outside the park, do serve some excellent food. If you like onion rings, stop at the Boathouse bar for a beer and some rings. The onion rings are outstanding. If anyone from Cleveland can remember the old Kenny Kings restaurants, the Boathouse onion rings taste like Kenny Kings' used to.

It wasn't at Midway Market, but ten years ago I tried some pizza at Cedar Point and haven't ate pizza in the park since then.

The Boathouse has become one of my favorite places on Point to eat. Sweet Potato fries! Mmmmm. And, just a buck or two more for a meal there than the midway "value" meals in the park.

Though my favorite place to eat is the table in a Lighthouse Point cottage, after whipping up some pancakes and sausage on the coleman stove. ;)

Pete,

If you like the onion rings at the Boathouse then you need to try them at Breakwater. Those are the best onion rings that I have ever had.

The baked beans they served at CoasterMania this year were some of the best I have ever had. Does anyone know where I can get them inside the park?

Sweet Potato fries at the Boathouse, huh? I'm there closing day.

And Brian, I'm glad I know of someone else that likes them.

FYI: the sweet potato fries come with caramel dipping sauce. Now *that* is good eats.

Hard to believe no one has mentioned Cheese On A Stick. They are kind of hard to find but I had my first one last July. A lovely snack for those with a good heart!!

Why don't you just eat out of the grease dumpsters, it's about the same nutritional content.

Who cares? The point of going to CP is to get away from normal life for a moment. Those sweet potato fries are great. Can't say that I've tried cheese on a stick though.

The cheese on a stick is one of the hilights at Cedar Point. Overal, I find the food there to be "ok", but a few select items do stand out. ChOSt is one of them.
