Hi all,
I'm flying from Australia to NYC in a month, and will be taking a side trip (one day) to Cedar Point on May 21... I've literally wanted to visit this park my whole life, but from Australia it's been an impossible task. So, I can hardly wait for this day. (I just hope the weather holds out that day as I have pre-booked flights to Cleveland.. Everyone cross their fingers for me :)
Anyway, I was just wanting to take my video camera with me, to get some footage at the Point... just wondering if there are secure lockers available that I could put a video camera in for the day? Thinking maybe an hour or so before closing, I might grab the camera from the locker and do my best to get some good video footage from around the park...
Thanks a lot.
Andrew
Hi Sterlo, I had the same idea this year for myself, but my videocamera is a VHS-C and it's hard to find a battery for it (although I found a site that has one, I don't have the money right now).
There are lockers throughout the park that you can store things in that are 25 cents and you get a key for your locker, I would say they are pretty secure and nobody else really messes with your stuff, at least from when I used them in prior years. We usually use the ones near the Wicked Twister since they are the closest to the front of the park (I haven't seen any closer than that), but if you go on the Cedar Point website they tell you where you can find lockers for small and large items.
the only ride you cannot set your possessions to the side are TTD and MF I think.
I've left my digital camera in those bins quite often.
Just a correction, the lockers around the park are $1 for one time use. There are also lockers at the front of the park that you can use unlimited times in the day, but I'm not sure how much those are.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
For some reason I wanna say that the small ones are $5 and bigger ones are either $7 or $10. There's a deposit of $5.
I could be wrong, but that's what I remember them as being. I've never really needed them. :)
Thanks everyone.
This is good news.. thanks for the info.
I'll definitely use one of the lockers then and try and get some good footage towards the end of the day.
I've seen some of the POV ride videos on Youtube at CP, but.. don't think I have the guts to try that - camera's a bit expensive :)
Cheers
Andrew
not to mention the fact that you probably wouldn't be in the park very long if your caught filming on ride videos
If you want anything light-weight or easy, use a camera-phone.
