Petting zoo

I was just interested to hear what you guys do! I work at a petting zoo and wondered how CP's was set up. So where do you get your animals? We get our animals on loan from a local University. Does Cp buy theres, or are they loans? What do you do with troublesome goats? We have a goat who loves to run out the gates when people come in! Do you train them? Halter train? Do you do demos? We do milking demos with a goat where kids get to milk a goat! Thanks for your answers I'm just curious for future reference and/or possible employement! Thanks!

At least when I worked there, they got new baby animals each summer from a farmer in the area, and then at the end of the summer he bought them back. But maybe it was just a loan. Trouble goats? We had a few who were a little rough during feeding time, and so they would usually be put inside during that time.

The goats were split in half, so they could be roated throughout the day. This was so we could control how much they eat, and also gave them a break from the people and heat. The goats learned who was in their group, and to go into their pen or come back outside by just some clapping.

No demos were done when I worked there. (I worked the summers of 1999, and 2000).

"The goats were split in half."

Eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww!

I guess of should of read back what I wrote. :)
