You must be 18 years old (or 17 years old and graduated from high school) Although there was a 17 year old who was hired last year that hadn't graduated from high school yet (not sure exactly why the exception was really made, but she only lasted a day anyway)
You must also not be afraid of heights (because you must climb into lofts to get supplies) and also be able to lift 50-60 lbs (hay bales, bags of feed, goats and lambs)
Studying an animal related area is a great qualification of getting hired, but even not necessary. Be sure to stress any animal contact you have had. Contract dates may determine some candidates. (Animals arrive about a week before the park opens, and last year they stayed through Halloweekends) The crew is about 8-9 people when fully staffed. You also work a few times a week at Pet Check.
With your major, and if you have some animal experience makes you a good candidate. John Wolshuck handles the hiring for the farm.
If you have any other questions about the pet farm or pet check, let me know.
