Pay Period

Does anyone know what the pay periods are? Like when paydays are and what day of the week pay periods start and ends? I know that they say to bring enough money for 3 weeks. I am processing in on May 9th so I am about a week behind the maority of people. Am I going to get alittle more then a weeks pay on my check?

Pay periods are two weeks long, and unless I'm completely remembering wrong you get paid on Fridays. And I'm pretty sure pay periods run from Sunday-Sunday. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while since I've gotten a CP paycheck.

I believe you are right...but now I'm not completely sure...darn it! Oh well, I'll just patiently wait for that first paycheck. lol

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

That's right.

ok, that takes care of all but 1 question, I am probably going to have to call CP and ask them about when the next paycheck goes out so I will be able to figure out where I be at in the pay period when I start. I am trying to figure out if i am going to have to wait 2 or 3 weeks for my first check and if my check will be for 1 or 2 weeks. I am working on figuring out how much money I will need to get me through until my first check.

That, I do not know. I got there a few days before Opening Day last year, and the pay period ended that weekend, meaning I got paid the Friday after Opening Day. It might be the same this year, it might not be, I have no idea.

Pay periods run from Monday of the first week through Sunday of the second week. Your paycheck should be available on Friday of the third week, which is why they tell you to plan for roughly 21 days before your first paycheck.

However, sometimes your first paycheck gets backdated. This happened to me last year, and even though I worked during the end of the first pay period, it didn't make it in time. As a result, on the pay day of my first full pay period, I received two checks.

So do some people get paid one friday and others people the next? I know there are people coming in at all times of the week and month. I would figure that they would have a set pay period like every other business and depending on when you start, depends on on many days your check will be for and how long you will have to wait until you get your first check.

Like if I start on friday the 9th and pay period end on sunday the 11th, then I will get paid for 3 days on friday the 16? or are they going to hold the money from those couple days and just pay me for those days and the next 2 weeks on May 30th?

Likely I found out today that I am working my part time job this weekend and will be getting paid for it on may 9th. I just have to get them to send it to me so I will have some money. The reason I was wondering about payday was because I was trying to pinpoint how much money I am going to have to bring with me. I was working for a tax service company so I haven't worked since april 15 and I am low on money, I have to borrow the money I will need up there until pay day. Thats the only reason I am so worried about when payday will be. I don't want to not borrow enough and then not have any money to eat or something else.

Theoretically, yes, that is how it would work if the end of the pay period was May 11. However, as you also mentioned, it is possible that with it being so close to the end of the pay period, there is a chance your first check may get held back until the 30th. The only question is where they are in the pay period right now.

Exactly -- Thats why one of my first question was, when are paydays. I am guessing the only people that would know that, would be someone that is already there.

Our next paycheck comes on May 2, 2008. You can go from there on an every other week basis. I've been working since March 24th, and have gotten 2 paychecks so far, and this will be my 3rd. It is good to bring enough money for 3 weeks, cause things can get pretty expensive.

That means the current pay period runs from yesterday through May 11.
