So is Cedar Fair trying to get back the 10 million in lost EBIT they are suggesting they lost this year by raising all of there parking prices to $9 ? ;). They should just spare us and make it a flat $10, less back up on the causeway.

They're up to $2.75 now - up a quarter from the last time I can remember - unless this was the first time I paid attention this year.h
They learned last time they did that, though - and they quickly dropped back down to $2.50.
There's a line which consumers draw as to how much they will pay for something, and it seems maybe we're approaching that.
I don't usually drink soda, I'm all about the water - but I absolutely cannot pay $2.75 for a bottle of water, when I'm buying it by the case for $6-7. Sometimes I get in the mood for a soda, so I will buy something from a food stand. I just can't see paying $3 for drinks all day long.
This issue extends WAY beyond amusement parks, though. It's actually much worse at other places.
I went to Sthressfest at the Scene Pavilion in Cleveland last month, and they wanted $7.50 for a 20 oz. beer and $5.75 for nachos. The show started at noon and went to 11:30 PM, and there's no re-entry so you pretty much had no choice but to eat there if you were hungry. I paid $2.50 for a box of popcorn.

I hope not. It's clear they alienated Geauga Lake customers in 2004 with their policies and pricing. They don't need to alienate Cedar Point customers in 2005. If they raise the price on the season passes significantly (for adding GL) then raise the price on the parking passes (good bet with the daily increase to $9), then watch out.
If they thought the GL results were bad this year, wait 'til they see CP's in 2005, ESPECIALLY if they're not adding a major coaster and lumping big price increases on at the same time...
Hey, I heard a rumor that Top Thrill Dragster is sinking...
My point was that IF parking passes go up AND seasons passes go up (maybe substantially, if they include GL), they magnitude of "revolt" might surprise them. It might rival what they saw with GL in 2004.

They should at least take some of that money and put the row markers back up. It's a lot easier to find your car when you know it's in Blue Streak 14. :)
Walt,
Those markers were cool! ;) Do you have any pics of them when they were up? Those were one of the last things I remember seeing when leaving the park after a fun day! :)
