Well, that is reassuring. Like you said - having a few of these stickers on your windshield is distracting enough, and for me, have one of them in a less-than-optimal spot (and orientation) would be incredibly annoying.

Those from WV will have a lot of trouble. The only thing allowed in the lower drivers side corner is the state issued inspection sticker
Head out to your local Auto Parts store and buy yourself some Rain X. Apply it to the wrong side of the windshield. The pass will stick, but still allow you to take off the sticker after use. *** Edited 11/14/2006 4:58:06 PM UTC by Coastern3rd***
The parking pass goes on the outside of the car.

Yeah, the Rain X works pretty well at removing them/making them not stick.
Although I've been informed they were using alcohol wipes to clean peoples windshields last year, so your mileage may vary.
Jeff, if that is true about 3 stickers on windshield being illegal, I wonder if the park even thought about that?! Interesting!
if the alcohol were to get on the paint could that screw up the paint job?

No. Your paint would be fine. Not to mention they are using pre-moistened pads, so there's nothing really to get [spilled] on your paint.
Jerry: Someone posted a link to a page on the Ohio BMV site that indicated you can have one sticker not exceeding 4" x 4" or something like that, so yeah, having three standard stickers is presumably not legal.

The exact wording from the Ohio BMV states:
"Windshield stickers are prohibited, except that there may be in the lower left-hand or right-hand corner of the windshield a sign, poster, or decal not to exceed 4 inches in height by 6 inches in width."
My other question is how easy is it to remove the sticker without destroying it, so that it could be applied to another vehicle.
^ That's the point. It stays on one vehicle, and one vehicle only.
At the end of the season a few years ago, I was trying to remove my sticker, and it comes off in chunks. You would be holding voided bits of sticker if you tried to remove it.
Thanks Josh. I figured as much.
The reason I asked was if it was easily removed, it could be stolen and placed on another vehicle. Since it doesn't come off in one piece, that would be prevented.
If you think about it, it's probably to their advantage for you only to be able to legally get one parking pass. That way, they're getting your $10 (or so) at every other park you're frequenting, which, in the end, would likely come out to be more than you would have paid for a parking pass.

Or you go to those parks less, don't buy things in the park as much as give them less than you would have.
That's more than likely what will happen.
I'm sure there are a lot of season pass holders, most of whom live nearby, who regularly go up "on a whim."
Having the parking on your pass eliminated a lot of logistical problems. You just went, with whatever car was around (or fueled up, or convenient,) or you went up with your friends, knowing parking would be covered. The extra $10 will eliminate a lot of those "whim" trips.
I think this is one of the dumbest "little things" Cedar Point has ever done. Not only will they surely lose attendance over it, it's pushed at least 11 people that I know "over the edge" (they elected not to buy a season pass next year.)
These aren't "once-a-year" visitors, these are families who nearly lived at the park (20-30 trips). One family spent thousands in the park on food and souvenirs. They spent $800 on their passes. Another one would stay at Breakers for a couple days. Both of these families now plan to go only once next year (probably Coastermania.)
These two families who gave up solely because of the parking change have also written letters. It's not like Cedar Point doesn't know how much it's costing them, or the specific reason they've lost the business.
Still they refuse to rescind this dumb decision, even in light of the unexpected impact. I just find that unbelievable. There's a stubbornness (arrogance?) there that I can't fathom. With just one of the families mentioned here, they probably lost more than all the parking fraud cost them. (Remember, parking fraud is preventable without stickers, and stickers won't prevent parking fraud.)
If they were smart, they'd immediately change the parking sticker policy and extend the "pre-season" pricing another month. Send direct mail (and emails) out to let everyone know. They might get these families back before it's too late.
Hey, I heard a rumor that Top Thrill Dragster is sinking...
I would think that the extra $15 dollars that Joe Cool costs to allow a parking pass on a season pass would cover any fraud that goes on. Most people do not commit fraud and are honest.
I like keeping my car nice and I hate stickers of any type on it. This year, with my boat in the CP Marina now, I would have had a window sticker anyway (required for the marina), so I'm not nearly as ticked off by the issue as I would have been in years past.
I wish they would make those stickers smaller. The huge square sticker they have is overkill. They could make it 50% smaller and it would still be sufficient. And it wouldn't look as ugly, or block as much of the window if you happen to buy both a CP and GL pass.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
TDD Sinking hit my point exactly. I brought this topic up because of the times you might use a different vehicle. We use our smaller Dodge Avenger for 2 person trips, Durango for whole-gang trips, and Dodge Ram when camping up at East Harbor State Park. The parking stamp on the season pass solved that problem. I don't want to buy 3 parking decals. My 18 year old son has his own car, and that means another sticker for him. If my math is correct, that's $200 for parking.($280 if we don't get them before Thursday). Anyone think C.P. might change their policy?
isnt there probably some sneaky way to cover your windshield with a clear film before they put the sticker on, then you could peal the film off with the sticker attached and reapply it again and again? im sure someone could figure out a way to do it.
