Parking Lot Locations

I have been going to Cedar Point now for almost 10 years straight and I have always parked in the main parking lot after you come over the causeway...I have heard many of you talk about the magnum lot and it sounds like a good lot to park in, but I have really no idea how to get to it because I'm not too familiar with the surrounding area around Cedar Point...If someone could please tell me how to get to the lot I would really appreciate it...Also, how many other lots do I have to choose from if I decide to not do the magnum lot?...One more thing, how many cars do you think the other lots can hold and how quickly do they fill up?...Thanks in advance for your responses...

The Magnum (or Soak City lot as it's also often called) is just behind RipCord. Going up either Gemini or Magnum's lift offer a clear view -- simply look left, and there it is.

The easiest way to get there? When you pull into the parking lot, and pay the parking toll... simply tell the attendant you are going to Soak City or Challenge Park. They'll throw a neon piece of paper under your windshield wiper, signalling to traffic control to direct you back to the Soak City lot.

It's quite a nice drive, actually... takes you right next to MF's lift and first drop, around for a great view of the lake, and behind Mean Streak before reaching the parking lot. It's also a nice bonus for the tailgate lunch. Your car is always right in the middle of the park.

It's also the same way you go when you are driving to the hotels, if that is any help.

Aww.....Florida! But That's America's Wang

Most of the time i don't even bother to ask, if you just follow the signs to the hotels and camper areas the employees don't even blink. I suppose that one could park at the marina, but i never tried that. There is a marina gate right next to the old IMAX Theatre.

I nearly always park at the Soak City lot. It rarely fills up and one is much closer to the coasters that i like to ride at the end of the evening. It's also a good place to park when you go in the middle of the day and don't want to park in the back of the big lot. One thing to keep in mind is that while you are closer to the back of the park you do have to walk through Challange park to get to the gate, it's not that far. But it is farther than one would think.

They check every car going into the Marina parking lot..

Yeah there's no way you're going to get to park by the marina. Sometimes the guy at the tollbooth won't even let employees through to go to HR or Cedars.

Yeah something about hanging out in a little booth all day can give some of those cops quite the ego boost. I mean, who wouldn't feel super important hanging out in a little box making sure no one steals the parking lot?!?!?

It's not that the cops are trying to be pricks, the marina parking has limited spaces and they have to have enough spaces for the boat owners. Same with parking in the Breakers lot, they check every car to make sure it belongs to a registered guest.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

Thanks to everyone who responded...You have really helped me out

Yes the CP police are very important! Actually I am happy that they are there as they are the ones who would risk their lives in a dangerous situation and EVERYONE should remember that!

Yeah, I saw one help a boy who was being attacked by a sea gull! Thank GOD he was there!!! Seriously though, the CP police do a wonderful job.. they just get a little testy when they've been in the box all day!

Don't tell everyone about the Soak City Lot. I would hate for that Lot to fill up in the summer so I cannot park there anymore.

I fool so feelish...

Ok this might be a stupid question but i'll ask anyways. I assume that the Magnum gate opens at 9 too right? Aso how do i get the lot on opening day? Becasue i dont think Soak City is open on opening day, should i just ask if i can park back there?
Easy, just tell the toll booth attendant at the main entrance gate that you want to go to Challenge Park, which will be open for that time of year.
1117, the Magnum entrance isn't open on opening day. Really. ;)

If someone were to goto the Fridays for food you would be directed to the Soak City lot. So if the hotel is open then that lot will be as well.
Yes..

Fridays people are asked to park in the Soak City lot and walk to Fridays.

I found that the Soak City lot is really convenient when I arrive at the park after I get off work, around 5:30. There is almost always several spaces open in the first few rows, near the entrance gate. Much easier then looking for a spot in the main lot.

I have a hunch that with the opening of TTD, CP may somehow regulate cars "going to Soak City" for the day.

With the park entrance near Challenge Park being the closest to TTD, a lot of people are going to be using that little trick.

The only thing other than CP that Steelers and Browns fans agree on

Shouldn't be a problem because Soack City isn't OPEN on opening day. So only hotel guests should be even going past the Blue Streak guardhouse.
