Parking Ban?

I have heard this mentioned before but I never did understand it. What is it? Thanks for any help.
These are days throughout the season (for example some Saturdays in July or August) where guest attendance is predicted to be so great that seasonal employees are asked not to park anywhere on Point (even in the usual employee parking areas). If you normally live on Point you have to move your car to the EVC lot by Commons the night before and ride the shuttle back home. If you live off Point you just ride the shuttle to work on that day (which a lot of off Point people do anyway because it saves on gas $$$).

The only way an employee is allowed to park on Point on a day the parking ban is in effect is if you have a special slip from your manager giving you permission. These slips are carefully controlled and each manager only gets a certain number that they're allowed to hand out; a lot of the older employees and/or supervisors get them -- and even then, they're not allowed to park on Point unless they come up to the toll booths with their cars completely full (they have to find a group of employees to ride with them).

The buses run more often on parking ban days to accomodate for the increased amount of employees needing rides to and from work.

Thanks for the help. I needed to know because even though I don't get to work there this summer (have been waiting for 5 years) I do get to work there next summer. I will also not be using cedar point housing, so would it be a problem for me to park in the evc lot? Thanks.
Yup, you can use the EVC lot even if you don't live in housing, it won't be a problem.
Lordy, I am glad that I did not have to endure the indignity of a parking ban. I hitched rides alot because it was fun and cheap. Park guests always got a charge out of giving an employee a ride! I do'nt imagine that happens alot anymore due to the risks involved. It's a shame as well because I made alot of freinds with park patrons and alot of them would visit me back in FT at my little resturaunt. It really made my day when I could experience the sincerity and kindness of a stranger giving me a ride and actually caring enough to make the effort to come back to visit.

Sometimes I would get off work early and spend the rest of the evening/day playing in the park with the same folks that gave me a ride. I had the opportunity to meet folks from all over the country, and they got to know a maniac employee!

This is the cruxt of what is fun about CP! Its the freinds you meet, the guest/employee interaction, the life lessons like hard work and getting along with all manner of personalities/orientation! I guess i digressed from the subject at hand; what the heck! Its all about the people you meet.
