Park Op Office Clerk?

Hey everyone I was evaluating which position I should apply for next year. Park Operations Office Clerk seems logical for me since I have worked at two theme parks as ride ops. The first one I became a lead, and the second one became a Park Op office clerk. This means I have a lot of experience in the field. Being a office clerk at the last park I worked at involved filing, answering multiple phone lines, entering daily and weekly counts into the computer, faxing daily reports, answering radio calls, and calling stuff out on the radio among lots of other stuff......

Basically, I wanna know your input would I have a good chance of getting that position since I imagine they dont hire many of those or should I stick to being a ride op?

Ride op...hands down.
I'd include your experience on the application, and the skills you developed being a clerk. Then, if you really want to be an office clerk, call after you apply and talk to them in person to express your interest. No, there aren't many, but you never know!

Let me tell you the truth, I have worked in the Park Op office multiple times throughout my 3 years at CP. Your best bet would be to work as a Ride Op. in the park first, you need to get used to the park and the way it runs before you jump into a spot like that, experience or not. Your experience will help you but you have the experience at other parks. In short what i'm saying is that you will have more fun and a much better learning experience if you apply to become a Ride Operator.

Let me know if this helps at all.

It helps and I really appreciate everyone's input.

I think I'll put ride op for my first choice with office clerk second as I do have ride op and office experience, but I don't know the park all that well. Sound good?

Office clerk at CP? Hmm. Doesn't sound exciting to me... however, I'm not an office clerk, so I can't really say. :)
It would be nice of you to join Jilly there at the front desk.....;)

the past, but this is an all time low..."
The thing is Ive been a ride op and ride lead before and i know the challenges that go along with the job. Working behind the scenes is a little different, I think I like it a bit more thats whay I was considering it.
