Paint Paint Paint

Do you think Mantis and Iron Dragon will receive new paint jobs? I think this would help spruce up the area. I really hope they do something with Mantis. Just cleaning the gum and water would do wonders!

Or maybe they are going to paint Magnum in its red glory... ;)

CP's paint list for the winter is Mantis first then Maggie. It will be so good to go back next year and hopfully work on the big bright bad Magnum.

Magnum is currently orange, but we settled this argument a while ago when it was discovered that on the Cedar Point website it is referred to as red. Let me go and see if I can dig up that link again.

The closest I'll ever get to riding a B&M Flyer is looking down while on Raptor... :(

I know what the site says...I still say that dark orange fades to light orange (Magnum) and red fades to pink (Mantis) or lighter red (Iron Dragon).

If it was from the same company, wouldn't it have withstood the test of time like Iron Dragon's? And why would they build two coasters in a row with the same color?

Because there's a law against building coasters with the same color. Didn't you know that? If they do it, people will stop coming to the park.

CP_bound, why not. Mantis really needs it. The first year it opened (the first year I ever went to the park) the colors were very brilliant. By the time the next season rolled around it already looked fairly faded and the season after that it was hard to remember how bright it used to be. Magnum's paint job seems to be holding up rather well for it's 13 year history.

Magnum is RED not ORANGE, if you want to see an orange arrow coaster look at Anacanda at PKD. THATS ORANGE!

There are always to great mysteries at CP. What is the park putting in next year (works every year even if its just a new show) and what color is Maggie.

Maggie is orange, but it's also red too. It was never bright red . In fact is was more of an umber color. An Red/Orange color.

Everybody is right. ;)

I would also have to agree with Dan...However, now all I'm waiting for is for Jeff, Dan, and Jeffrey Spartan to tell us that the magnum will be painted green and purple again...that post still makes me laugh when I think about how serious sounding you all were and how many people you had believing it...Anyways, let's just wait and see if the new color they paint is orange or red...my money is on red though

Actually, I wish Cedar Point would do something different with the Mantis queue. It's horrible.

New paint would help, but the station and queue are horrible. Not to mention the junk in the water. The area needs help! It's a shame because the place Mantis is located on could be so nice and natural.

Wait wait wait wait... So they're not going to paint Magnum green and purple?!?

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

If anyone gets out there this weekend take a look at the airtanks on the ready breaks. You can see them clearly to the right. Those tanks are painted often. You can see that they painted them this year in fact. That will be what the entire coaster will look like after being painted. It is red.

Magnum should be repainted greenish brown.

And CP needs to figure out what color MF is, what's up with the light blue patchwork?
