Pain in back...

I recently rode dragster for the first tim not so long ago. My greatest fear was that of the extreme staplingthat goes on but, soon I found that that was the least of my fears. After gettin off of the ride I felt a sharp pain in my back. I think this was do to the shape of the seats. It went on for most of the day but I could care less seeing I just rode dragster. I was wondering if any of you experienced pain/discomfort in your back or in any other part of your body for that matter?
That's wierd Dragster is one of the smoothest rides.
I felt perfectly fine after riding Dragster. Maybe its because of my high threshold of pain or something.

No pain at all, it's a very smooth and comfortable ride. The pain must be from other causes and is just a coincidence with your Dragster ride.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Ok, the seats are comfortable, (I Want to buy a test seat and put it in my living room :) )

So the Problem you may have had is that you were slouching in the seat, or your head wasnt back, and all the stress that your neck was trying to hold your head against the G-Forces may have caused pain in your back, or it just may be that you have minor back problems... I really dont know but those are my guesses... I had no trouble whatsoever, the ride is nice and smooth... :)

"C'mon, get off the rails guys, listen to the guy with the Disaster Transport uniform on!"

Yep, Top Thrill was a very, very smooth and comfortable ride, for me and everyone I know that has been on it. And what do you mean by "extreme stapling"? That does sound scary lol. I have never seen or even heard of "extreme stapling" on any ride at Cedar Point before.
mrfat699, yeah, they should auction off the seats from that 6th train that they will never use (if they decide they wont use it for sure).

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

You may just have a bad back. I do, but I still ride roller coasters (not really bad, yet. I get it from my dad). It's probaly the way you were sitting when it launched. *shrugs* I can't really say alot on this topic, I have yet to ride it. :(

Dragster's seats are a vast improvement over the MF seats both in comfort and securing the rider. They're deeper for one thing, and the bent lap bar posts put the bar on your lap instead of your gut.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

The only problem I have with Dragster's seats is the headrest. Maybe because of my height (which btw isn't abnormal...just 5' 11") my head lands in an awkward part of the headrest and is a bit uncomfortable. (I hate to even use the word painful because it sounds like I came off the ride in agony or something) Other than that I thought the ride was uber-smooth. :)

A ride like this can bring out problems that you may not have noticed before. You might just want to get a check up to make sure everything is OK if you are worried about it. It could be anything from a back problem to gas!

i was amazed at how smooth the ride was

They do pin ya down pretty good in those seats... just like you were on a rocket...

wait a minute.... you are...

It could have happened as you got out of the train. If you twist a certain way stepping up and out you could have pulled something.

I agree with OldCPer. After riding Wicked Twister, I have to be careful hopping out of the seat. If I hit the floor pad to hard my legs go numb. Blood hasn't had time to settle back down yet ????

Joey,

I think I know what you mean with the headrest. It seemed to me some of the times I rode it, that my head was also in an uncomfortable position, but with the ride being so short, I was fine.

I would love adjustable headrests, but I guess that isn't going to happen.

This actually happened to me on Power Tower, I was in the green seat, and when we dropped and instantly went back up, that hurt my back, after a bit of walking around and resting and all, it felt better. I am very careful about getting out of the seats, because you CAN twist your back a certain way and it can cause pain. Also, your neck, you may not have been resting your head on the headrest, so your neck was fighting against the G-Force.... I do notice that on Mean Streak, sometimes I come off with a bad lower back pain, but it does eventually subside.

I usually stand completely up, then walk to the right direction, I dont usually do much turning...

is 6'2 too tall for the headrests?!?!

I've been hearing some stuff from the Lemon Chill guy lately, you wanna hear?
You must be kidding, right? I have rode this thing a few times and I had no problems and even with the rollback I took. I have not heard from anyone who had a problem with pain of any sort after riding. (except the I gotta P pain) But then I am no expert either. You should see a doctor about it. I do get back pain from standing in line and walking all day. Also foot pain and the burning pain from the sun burn I got there! Good luck BMX

Gotta Love The Dragster!

Ive never had pain in my neck and/or back when I rode Dragster.

By the way: Pete, I saw you at the park sunday, I passed you when you were walking out to the Soak City Parking lot. At least I think it was you. :)

No pain in me, Dragster was one of the smoothest, if not THE smoothest, rides ever.
