"Oncoming riders, welcome to the Magnum XL-200. We're gonna take you up 205 feet and drop you 194 feet and eight inches at a sixty-degree angle so please buckle those safety belts and make sure your lap bars are secure. Please remember to remain seated with your hands, arms, legs and feet inside the train at all times, and put those cameras away because although the setting is beautiful, picture taking is strictly prohibited on this one mile track to the lake and back, which will take you two minutes and thirty seconds to complete at speeds reaching seventy-two miles per hour. This means you must hold on to your loose and valuable articles, because Cedar Point cannot and will not be held responsible for anything lost or damaged on this ride....clear means you're outta here so sit upright, hold on tight, and enjoy your ride here on the NUMBER ONE rated steel coaster in the world, the Magnum XL-200, only at Cedar Point!"
Interspersed into that (there are variations, that's just the one I used most of the time and all have the same basic idea ;) ) the PA Host/Hostess has to wait for the knock on the plexiglass from the Controls operator and then say "Ready"(this means discontinue loading) and then knock once when the lap bars should be locked and then when the Controls person knocks twice they say "Ready ready"(this means LET'S GET THIS THING OUTTA HERE!) and when all of the platform hosts have given the thumbs up signal, he/she knocks twice and that's when the "clear" part of the spiel comes into play, and the train is sent on its merry way. WHEW!
But I don't know what they do at Knott's. Sorry. :(
