Outrageous Prices!

Don't get me wrong, a lot of the prices are reasonable but some things are just way out of hand! Like the $2.50 for a 20 oz. pop in the queue and $1.50 for M&M's. The $12.00 for a TTD picture is $3.00 more expensive then any other on ride photo. The best deal is the dragster cup (unlimited refils), Season passes (for more than 2 trips) and midway market. if you agree or disagree please reply. Thanx

Well how else do you think Cedar Point is going to build another rollercoaster with out money?

Besides it is a one of a kind coaster.

X2 is the best movie ever!!!
I was in it!!!

I agree with you. When I seen the 20oz pop price I just laughed and said: "CP must be making 400% profit". I noticed that CP has an answer for everything. They have the best economist working there. For instance, the ponchos for water park, etc... They have an answer for your every need. Another good example you mentioned was the TTD $12 photo. CP can charge that price because everyone wants that picture. Its pretty simple. People are really hot waiting in line = $2.50 20oz. Poeple want to show their friends that they rode the TTD = $12 pic w/ no questions asked. TTD refill cups our the best deal in the entire park (besides the season passes). But mostly, everything is a giant rip off because CP knows that they can charge anything because there is no where else to go.
20oz soda is $3.00 at Six Flags Great America, and I most of the soda sold from the stands and restaurants are usually filled with ice. I never buy them, though (of course). You have to realize that whenever I go to Cedar Point everything then seems somewhat cheap, so it's not that outrageous because they still charge more for the same thing at other parks. Yet, you can get a six pack at the grocery store for about $3, so it's all messed up.

yeah, if you pay for it, it doesnt matter. when i go to any sort of amusement park or sports game, i expect to pay a lot more money for stuff, thats just a given, they practically have a monopoly there.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

How much does a regular bottle of water coast at cedar point?

Do they still sell the dragster cups, if they do how much are they? And do you think it's worth it if you're planning on spending 2 days at the park and one day at soak city?

The Dragster bottles are $10. Unlike the refill deals I have seen at other parks, the Cedar Point deal actually has a payoff. Well, here...Six Flags has a similar deal for $6.95 but with refills for $0.99--which one is a better deal depends on how much you plan to drink. Remember also that the CP deal is a 44-oz bottle while Six Flags sells a 32-oz mug.

Refill - CP serving - Six Flags serving
00 - $10.00 - $6.95
01 - $ 5.00 - $3.97
02 - $ 3.33 - $2.97
03 - $ 2.50 - $2.48
04 - $ 2.00 - $2.18
05 - $ 1.67 - $1.98
06 - $ 1.42 - $1.84
07 - $ 1.25 - $1.74
08 - $ 1.11 - $1.65
09 - $ 1.00 - $1.59
10 - $ 0.91 - $1.53

The Dragster bottle is a pretty good deal if you're thirsty. But it's a lousy design to carry all over the park.

Or if you go this week, you can get a 12 pack of pepsi at Meijer ;)

I gotta agree with Jeff, though. $3.50 at the Joe Louis for a drink.... 8.25 for a beer... yep I'd rather pay amusement park than sporting event prices

You have to take into consideration that you get 2 pictures on TTD a before and after. You only get one on the other rides. This is how Millennium is spelled.

The best ways to save money at CP:

Eat at the Midway Market.

Free ice water instead of pop.

Get ice cream at the ice cream parlor at the front of the park instead of Dip n' Dots.

TTD Launches: 7
MF Laps (2003): 14
Rapter Laps (2003): 10

even more ways to save money at the point.

Pack a cooler with sandwiches, pop, and all the goodies. Get your hand stamped, go out to the car and eat. Come back to the park and enjoy your day.

Another way.... Buy ONE bottle of pop or water in the park, and then keep refilling the bottle with water from the fountain the rest of the day.

I do this for day trips and can spend less than $20.00 for the entire day that includes parking, and playing a few of the midway games and the like.

Jeremy,

If you're going to refill from the drinking fountain, why bother buying a bottle. Just ask for a free cup of water at any food stand with a soda fountain. It's filtered, served with ice and you can get an unlimited supply. Much better than drinking fountain water!

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Even though amusement park prices are outragous, that is any park, you have to pay to play. Basically you have to learn how to cut corners, like save money by using one car for parking, bring your own lunch and refreshments, eat a big breakfast before you get to the park, don't carry anything unless you absolutly need it (saves money from the lockers). If you will be staying overnight, you can bring all the food and refreshments to your hotel room and eat there.

Remember that like any other summer vacation: CP is a tourist trap, do you really need that picture?

Beer and golf Thursday thru Monday, Cedar Point & beer, Tuesday and Wednesday.

I was thinking the same exact thing Jeff. If you want to feel you got a value on your food and such in the park, head on out to a Cleveland Indians game after your day at the park. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the pop machines were bumped up to 3 bucks in the peak season last year.

The Dragster cup deal is good, but lacks horribly in that you cannot take it on any ride, you have to carry it around, or get a locker, (which defeats the purpose of having the cup with you).

The park needs to get something that is easily pocketed and/or carried and then offer free refills. That would serve an even bigger purpose.

Race for the Sky. :::::::::::::9

hmmm and I thought the reason you go to these parks is blow your money away.As I am unfortunate to only go once a year I say what the hell and have a great time and spend money like crazy(you can thank me later for the new coaster ;)).After all isnt this the reason you they invented overtime?
Well time to go balance my checkbook again and try to get money ready for Cedar Point.HAve a great day all.
Overtime? What's so great about that? That's just my employer screwing me out of more of my time, even after admitting that we're all overworked and underpaid.

Overworked, underpaid, and salaried.
(Love the work, though, or I wouldn't do it!)
