Out of state bank accounts

Is it possible to get your paychecks mailed and deposited into your bank at home? I thought I once read somewhere that you could...my bank doesn't have any locations in Ohio, and I don't want to have to go through setting up a direct deposit with whatever bank CP offers (the one this year ended up charging me over $200 after I made an honest little mistake). Does anyone know how to set it up so that your checks get sent home - do you have to go to HR for that?

Also - could I use my ATM card at ATM machines up in Ohio even though my bank doesn't have any locations there? If anyone knows anything about this, I'd appreciate some info :-)

"Am I still in Cedar Point?"

Well, short of mailing your checks home yourself, I don't think that Cedar Point has anything set up other than the standard direct deposit. My suggestion would be to a) open a bank account for the summer and transfer your funds at the end of the summer, or, b) just mail your checks home yourself ;)

As for using your ATM card, I'm sure that as long as both your bank and the machines in Sandusky had the same service, you would be fine, although, you will probably get charged a hefty amount in withdrawl fees. Which makes choice 'a' even more attractive :)

Hope I could be of some help!

Unfortunatly, CP will only direct deposit with the bank they choose. In 02 it was Firstar and in 01 it was 5/3. If your bank is out of state, looks like your pretty much SOL. I just cahsed my check, got a Money Order for 69cents at tops and mailed that back home.

Just set up a local account so you can deposit/cash checks. The bank should be easy to get to if you dont have a car as downtown is only a boatride away.

Look on the bottom or back of your ATM card. There should be various different interesting-looking logos printed on it. Any time you see one of these symbols on an ATM machine, even if the machine is not from your bank, you can use that machine. Of course, you'll still be charged a fee, but the fact that you have money in your hands will outweigh the $1.50-$2.00 you lost using the machine. (I don't remember it being any more than that anywhere at Cedar Point).

You could also do some research about what different national bank chains are located in Sandusky and also at your home. For example, there is a 5/3 in my hometown and one in Sandusky also, so I opened a 5/3 account and cancelled my old one with Standard Federal (I was getting hosed there anyway...).

Speaking about money and bank accounts: what about foreign employees? Does anyone know how they get their money?

I assume it's impossible to open a bank-account when you're not a U.S. citizen?

The internationals can also apply for direct deposit. All of the ones that i've known does do direct deposit. I believe they have to get an social security card to be able to get an acct. also to work at cp. They fill out the app. in HR (Human Resources). When their card comes in they have to go to HR and give them the soc. number and that's also for the internationals to be able to sign up for direct deposit.
