I'm coming to work at Cedar Point this summer for the first time, all the way from Massachusetts. Do a lot of people come from outside of Ohio (besides internationally)? Also, are there a lot of people who are 21+? I might fly if my parents won't drive me out here, is there any kind of shuttle service for employees to get picked up from the airport and brought to housing? If not, anyone want to pick me up, haha (may 24th)? Also, is the housing near any grocery stores/targets/walmarts etc.? I think those are all my questions for now. I'm really excited, but still nervous obviously. Thanks guys!
p.s. Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated, I've never even been to Ohio.
Most employees are from out of state, although they're mostly from Michigan. As far as I know CP doesn't offer a shuttle to or from the airport. There is a train station in Sandusky some people use. I had a friend from Texas do that.
There are lots of people over 21.
I think there are a couple places to buy groceries that are walkable from housing but you'll most likely just get rides with people you meet that have cars. Sandusky has a Wal-Mart, Target, and a Meijer (like Wal-Mart but cleaner, less shady) and lots of other stores and places to eat.

My first year i flew to Cleveland took greyhound to sandusky and there was cabs there. It worked for me but i only took a small amount of stuf in a camping pack that i could cary on my back. The cab fair was like 10 and the bus was like 25.
Online there are some cab co. that drive sandusky. Dont get a cab at the airport the charge a lot more than if you take a shuttle or pre aranged with a sandusky cab. You should call and get pricing b4 you go.

Yes, many people who work at CP are from out of state. Yes, many people are over 21. No, they do not have a shuttle service you must get your way to housing at your own expense. Yes, there is stores, Sandusky Ohio is a town just like any other town.

I'm driving in from Texas. It's about 24 hours straight through, but I'm not crazy enough to try driving for that long at a stretch. I'm gonna be breaking it up over 3 or 4 days.
25 days until I head out....

Just man up and do it straight through. Unless you're planning on visiting some places on the way, theres no way you should need more than 1 night in a hotel.

I've driven that far before with only one night in a hotel. It pretty much sucked. I decided that this time I'd build in extra time and actually do some sightseeing along the way.
I've done some crazy freaking driving, but driving from anywhere in Texas to Sandusky straight through would be crazy. Even crazier if you're from West Texas or South Texas.
I have to drive 23 hours. I'm planning on driving 15, stopping to visit someone in Virginia and then finishing up the last 8. It should be interesting, seeing as I'm 19 and have only driven 4 straight prior to this.
I got an hour.
