Why can't people just use their head sometimes?
Does anybody else find this statement just the slightest bit ironic?
I was up at the point this past week and my friend seen signs for a new ride going in for 2009.(don't think it was a coaster)
Not sure if this is related,or if this has been talked about already.I just thought I'd share. I can't remember the name of it,and I'm sorry for no pics, but it's supposed to be going in where the closest pavillion to Raptor's exit is.

actually XxMantisxX I think we would know about a new ride. If it
has a sign up, I mean the people on here are quick to jump on things
like that. So i think your friend may have been lying. Then again
Maybe not maybe he/she discovered something.
Would you friend happen to be the lemon chill guy? ;)
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

I knew someone was going to say that.

I was thinking the same thing. I was going to say "Yeah, someone did....and look where that got him."

No, he's not the Lemon Chill guy!
Seriously though, it looked like they had cleared those pavillions out,and were ready to tear them down.
And neither one of us are out to start stupid rumors. I have to believe what he saw,is true.I just figured someone on here will be going back to the park this year and could possibly get over that way to investigate more thoroughly.
I'm trying to get a hold of him,and see if he remembers the name of it or the location of the signs.Sorry,I knew I should've stayed one more day!

I was at CP over the weekend. The pavilions by Raptor are being readied for Fear Faire. They have put up some of the "netting" on the outside. I did not see any signs announcing any new ride. Maybe the sign you saw was the one in front of the relocated Boo Hill which is currently under construction by Blue Streak.
I'm not sure what he saw. Maybe he did get it mixed up with something for Halloweekends. But the name he mentioned,to me sounded like a thrill ride(not scary),and said it was for 2009. Anyhow,I would've thought if a sign was posted,we would've heard about it through CP,or here already.I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I was hoping that they would be marking ground for a new ride coming this winter, or soon, because this is the time of year Maverick's things were popping up. I guess the ignorance of Six Flags is once again smashing our hopes of fun and excitement.

^ - huh? What does Six Flags have to do with anything?
They aren't building a new ride because they haven't planned for one for this year (although that may not even be true, they may have just not started yet).
Secondly, rides don't have the return on investment that they used to. Cedar Points attendance has slipped over the last few years, and thats with the addtions of MaxAir (2005), SkyHawk (2006) and Maverick (2007).
The point of rides is to give people a reason to come to the park and spend money. Well, rides just aren't cutting it anymore, so dropping another one in just isn't going to cut it. There are other areas of the park that need some serious attention before another ride gets added in.

I would take three years in a row without a new ride to get the foodservices' act together.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I'm calling Shenanigans on this one.
Call it what you want. But if it ends up being true, then I think I'll personally call the ride "Shenanigan".Does have a nice ring to it!Did you also call Shenanigans when that kid said Wildcats had an accident?
I understand that it sounds fishy without proof, and being that I don't post often,I haven't the credibility for you to believe what I say might be true. The only reason I mentioned it,was the possibility that someone will be over that way,and see the same sign.I don't care if he was right or wrong.I would prefer it to be true, not to say I was right,or to prove you wrong, but so I have something new to ride.I just like to know what is or might be going on at the Point.(as I assume others here do to).Like I said though, without proof,it is what it is.Think what you want...

^ - I'm not calling Shenanigans on you, but on your friend.
Don't take it personal, but plenty of people post here with "inside knowledge" or that they "saw something" but have no details.
Heck, even this thread STARTED as an "is this a new ride" thread before it was pointed out that the tape was marking where idiot signs would go.
So, when someone posts that they saw a sign that they think is for a new ride, but has no other details, then I am a little skeptical.
The only bonus to it is it's proximity to Midway Market, and we can only hope that that food service abomination (even by CP standards) is demolished in the process. Heck, I would even take a day off work to come down and help if it meant getting that rectal stench of an idea out of the park.
Goodbye MrScott
