Operator error?

The Point has the best ride ops anywhere!!! Seriously you guys take your job seriously. I have a example i was at the Point Labor day weekend last year and was getting on Mantis. This guy had his harness on wrong and the ride ops quickly stopped the ride before we went and made sure his belt was on right. We had to wait but hey I don't care I don't want to see somebody die while I am riding a ride. Great Job to all those ride ops from last year on Mantis. Way to stay on top of things.

P.S. Thanks for a great CP experience will be at Cedar Point May 20th t/m See ya thier!!!
I wonder about MIA next season though. I went last season and they had one employee checking height, restraints, and manning the controls. Then having time to play around on the TRACKS while the coaster was RUNNING.

CP crews are the best around.

Gang! I have to tell ya, you guys are on top of it all.. I did pay extra attention on my vistit and didn't see not one little flaw! You are above and beyond! I feel as though I can trust my children are safe to ride with out me along at your park.
every seatbelt/harness/lapbar....all checked every time!
Cheers to you!
As far as rides such as the power tower, the ride will not operate unless all of the harnesses are down and locked into positions... the computer monitors the position of the harnesses at all times... as someone previously mentioned, the seatbelts provide an added degree of protection to ensure safety. Having worked the point last summer, i would have to say that CP truly prides themself on safety and all the employess take that pride with them to work everyday. One funny note however, on power tower after the ride is launched, the computer shows the harnesses in the open position, hehe, it looks like everyone will shoot into space.
Off topic,,,but I have to say,,,that power tower is just too damn scary for me....I shudder just thinking about it. In fact, I could probably give myself a full blown panic attack just thinking about getting on that puppy.

Kruggie,,,needlessly babbling
This past summer, I found the people at the biggest risk of being on the dangerous end of an operator's error are the ride operators themselves. Case in point: one nameless ride operator on our ride gave me and another member permission to cross the tracks before she sent the train. Unfortunately, she forgot that she granted us this permission and sent the train while we were still crossing. Thankfully we were not squished. Since we have the most uninhibited access to all moving parts, track, trains, motors etc. we have to be consistently on our toes to protect our safety. Because of this increased awareness, any danger for the guests is systematically precluded.

On a side note. I most enjoy spieling. My personal favorite is my spiel about binary relationships, most specifically "newness" v. "oldness". Unfortunately, I have to give a tamer version than I would like. Still, I find special joy in comparing the Gemini to burgundy--it only gets better with age.
