Operating Rides

In 3 years I'll be graduating from High School and I am planning on working at CP in the summers through college.

I'm wondering how you get to operate certain rides. Is it like a ladder where you start with the kiddie rides and move up to MF and TTD?

Or, is it more involved with something like how well you do in your operation training?

It has more to do with your availability to work during the summer than anything. During the interview they will ask you if you have a fear of heights and if you feel you can work in a fast paced environment. There is no such thing as working your way up to the big rides. There are plenty of first year employees working popular roller coasters every year.

Sweet. Well, I have no problem working something fast paced. I get distracted when I'm not constantly working.
I think some of it has to do with your prior work experience as well. It wouldn't hurt to be able to say that you've had a couple jobs before. Whereas someone without any job experience may be passed up for the same ride.
A bit of job experience is great (I worked at Mystery Spot, then worked at a restaurant, now I'm working at CP).

You should be good with guests (good tempered), be able to work in high temperatures, be quick about things, and expect a bit of moving around (I went from 297 lbs to 234 lbs in one summer... then got it all back over the holidays...:p).

Ford! There's an infinite number of monkeys outside who want to talk to us about this script to Hamlet they've worked out.
