Opening Weekend at KOA

I got an email about this promotion the other day and wanted to pass it along to everybody. If you book a cabin at KOA (on Cleveland Rd. about a mile east of the CP Causeway) for Friday, May 13, you get Saturday, May 14 for free. I stayed there last year on opening weekend using the same promotion and it was great.

The cabins are pretty nice and come with a stocked kitchen (pots and pans, utensils, etc) and bedding but you have to bring your own towels. They aren't as nice as Lighthouse Point cabins, but they're definitely not rustic. A 6 person cabin is $80, smaller cabins are even cheaper.

Wow, that's a neat deal!

Just don't let the passing freight trains startle you too much. We tent camped there a few years ago, and didn't realize the tracks were that close. Thought the train was going to run over my tent at two in the morning. :)

Other than that it was a great campground, and close to the park as well.

Try staying at maples, where it's just a tad closer to the tracks. :)Also, already reserved a cabin for opening weekend! WOOOHHHH!!!!

^ I reserved my cabin yesterday. Can't wait. I'm a heavy sleeper, especially after a few beers around the camp fire, so the trains don't bother me.

This is a great deal. I must admit after last season, I found myself a bit more partial to the Maples than KOA/Bayshore, but with this deal, I may have to reconsider.
