Opening Day Trains

For those of you who go on opening day a lot, you notice that barely if any rides have all trains running. How many do you expect will be running on Top Thrill Dragster on May 4?

all 6 trains

What's life without rollercoasters!!!

I would expect them to have all of them running. Since it is a new ride, they will definitely want to have all of them running. Otherwise, they are going to have extremely long waits. (Not that the waits aren't already going to be extremely long)
Keep in mind they couldn't get all three trains running on MF for its opening, heck they only had one train running during the Longerberday and AAA day.

One major problem with MF though was the yellow train. Because it did not log enough hours for the Department of Agriculture to certify it, they couldn't use it yet. I would imagine that with the hussle they built this thing, they are going to use a great deal of the rest of the offseason testing it (once they finish construction).

6 trains?? How do you figure they will be able to have 6 trains on that track at one time?? They will have 3 or 4 trains running(more likely 3), I'll bet on that. But there is NOWAY they would have 6. There isn't enough room for 6 running at the same time.

I'll bet you one meal at the Midway Market that Dragster will be capable of running six trains at one time ;)

CrazyCoasterGuy, you really need to read the previous threads and pay attention to info found on this and other CP websites before making a ridiculous post like that.
What do you mean Scott?

HE MEANS....

Their will be six trains running at a time!
-2 trains in the station
-1 train on the launching platform
-1 train actually going
-1 train at Unload Station #1

Not to be rude, but there are numerous threads in this forum where 6 train operation is discussed. Not to mention the Cedar Point official website and Rideman's detailed description on Virtual Midway. As long as there are 7 blocks, there is room for 6 trains.
If they get all the testing done & everything's okay with the trains. They'll have all 6 running on opening day. 6 trains can easily fit on that track. Rememebr, the trains are not that big.
That's great!! It's listed with 6 trains. That's if one or two break down they have more. Intamin has seen what happens with other similar coasters (i.e. Hypersonic). I've looked at the track on the web cams and I think 4 max at one time. Plus isn't there extra track toward the middle of the circuit to store more trains? It's just my thoughts.

6 trains operational, with the regularly scheduled launch plan and layout.
Ok thanks for the info. That's great that it will have that kind of capacity. It will really be interesting to where they will have stoped trains around the circuit.

How exactly does a train "break down". Rides go down all the time, but I'm not sure I've ever heard of a train being "broken". Sure they do regular maintenance (replace wheels, etc), but trains don't "break down".

They will have at least 4 running on opening day but hopefully all 6.

I ment like broken wheel, brake pad. You know. I guess break down wasn't the proper term.
