We ended up leaving before 3:00pm because my son had a baseball game. We found out when we got home that the game was canceled due to a muddy field. (Note to self - always check the answering machine before leaving Cedar Point early.) Between that, visiting with my mom, and covering the Planet Snoopy and Toft's openings in the morning, I didn't make it beyond the Iron Dragon midway.
I'm not really a trip report kind of guy, but I'll make a few quick observations based on my limited visit.
- Planet Snoopy looks outstanding. I was impressed with the layout, bright colors, and overall feel. And would you believe that I did not hear a single man, woman, or child complain about the rides being used or that they were duplicates.
- I found it challenging to locate the Early Entry entrance. Challenging, first, to find it and then challenging to fight through the thick crowd of non-early entry guests. Maybe it was complications from the OSU band, who were near Johnny Rockets, but if both types of guests are going to be on the midway, perhaps an entrance to the side would make it easier.
- We waited a solid 20 minutes for one cycle on Snoopy's Space Race. I don't believe it was entirely an "opening day" issue, as I recall children's rides had very slows loads and unloads last year. I'm not sure the answer is, but I have to believe there is a lot of room there to pick up the pace.
