Agreed.
Telling everyone else that its manageable is assinine. Juding from the economic reports coming in, I'd say gas prices are quickly becoming unmanageable for many people.

It's not the price of the tank of gas for the trip that is hurting people, it is the cumulative factor.
Of course, adding 10-11 dollars to one trip is no big deal. It's the fact that over the course of daily living, everyone is spending 3 times as much on gas.

Scary thing about gas prices is this... We're in spring now. Gas prices range from around $3.389 all the way up to $3.499 in my area, probably even higher in some places I don't know about. $3.50 a gallon. There are still a good three months before July, the middle of summer. Typically prices rise in that time period.
With the rate prices are going, I'm scared that $4 may become a reality. No longer will $4 be just the price of a Wal-Mart generic prescription, but also a gallon of gas. :(
In one year gas prices have risen slightly less then $1. Thats is asinine, and it does add up, I have a minivan which has a 25 gallon tank, and gets up to 25 mpg on the highway. A trip to Kings Island and back to Toledo takes approximately 2/3rds of my tank, that means a trip this spring costs nearly
$16 more then last year. That $16 is enough (on top of the nearly $1 increase the year before that) to make me think twice about a day trip, oil is about to enter a very bad time.
There is only so long that this cycle of the economy doing bad, so everyone invests in oil, which makes the economy do worse due to inflation, which causes more people to buy oil, etc. can last. A lot of people I know are seriously cutting back on their use and either this finally causes enough of a drop in demand to send the oil market into a panic (which isnt good either, but at least the market would correct itself back to last years prices) or our economy goes down the toilet real soon.
